I am 31 and am the mother of 1, a 14 month old girl. I'm a stay at home mom. My boyfriend and I  celebrate our 3 year anniversary July 31st. I too am the mom of a preemie. Even though she Is 14 months, you can still tell. She looks like a 10 month old.

I love to read and play games and watch movies. Just saw Tangled. My boyfriend downloaded It and put It Into a disc for my daughter.

Is she doing okay? If I remember right, she was a lot earlier than my second child (he was a month early.)  He had some problems for awhile, but eventually really achieved well.  He was so tiny for several years before finally adding some needed weight on.

I am a stay at home mom also, my daughter is almost 11 months and she wasn't a preemie. I'm glad everything worked out for you and everyone else. BTW my daughter's middle name is Nicole also, ironic. lol.

Have a good day!

 Hello! It sounds like you have a full schedule. But I admire the fact that you find the time to raise red wigglers and an organic garden! Having 5 grand-children and also a job with Fed-Ex, I just don't see how you can find the extra time to squeeze all of that into your schedule. You must be great at organizing your time! Raising a organic garden is very time consuming but it is also a very rewarding hobby. I used to have a farm and raised all of my food and herbs that way. It is something that I miss alot since moving to the big city. I hope you have a BLESSED GROWING SEASON!!!!  ;D

Hello and welcome.  With 5 grand-children and a job I'm sure you are busy too.  City living has it's rewards and you can always container garden.

Stop by and visit again.

Hi TaintedLust.

We took our three year old grand-daughter to see Tangled and I swear we enjoyed it as much as she did.  Her eyes never left that screen and we even had to stay for the credits.  She loves the music and we recorded the songs for her and gave her a CD player for Christmas so she can sing with all of her Disney Princess music.

Well I started school three weeks ago for Medical Assistant and I think I'm finally starting to get into the swing of things.  Now that I'm older it's more of a challenge though.  For instance the books are terribly heavy, probably weighing 60 pound when I'm carrying them all.  I do have a wheeled tote but I drive a Blazer and lifting the tote up into the vehicle is hard for me.  Maybe I'll build muscle though.

Another thing is that my eyesight isn't what it used to be.  I have to wear cheaters to do some of the textbook reading and then when I take them off I see floaters swimming.  I'm hanging in though and hope it will get easier as I go along.  So far I'm making A's and B's.

:cat:  Keep up the great work, golotomer!  I admire you for achieving those grades!  It's just a shame the books are so heavy.  Be careful with that!  Hope you are having a super weekend! :)

Thanks for the kind words.  What have you been up to jcribb?  Are you feeling better than you were?   I have a three day weekend.  It was good to finally get some housework done.  My honey is in Florida until after next weekend, (race car mechanic on the circuit), so I pretty much let things go so I could hit the books.  I feel  a little more caught up now though.

I even started crocheting him a lapghan, with a little pocket to put his feet into.  It's in shade of green he likes...like the color of an old Jaquar.  ;)

It's nice to have a little down time.

TTYL,

Kat

:cat:  Downtime is really nice, isn't it?  We have a four day weekend here - the schools had a furlough day Friday.  We did a lot of house cleaning catch up yesterday.  I hate doing it at the time, but it's so nice afterward.

I'm doing okay.  I'm not coughing as much, just dealing with sinus headaches and extremely puffy eyes. I had my 5th round of Xolair shots Friday (for my asthma.) I really don't feel them helping yet, but we have one more round to go next month.  I sure hope they start showing improvement before then.  Because if they don't work, they aren't sure how to progress next with me.  I'm not too comfortable with that idea at all.

So your honey is a mechanic at the races!  That is only about 3 hours from where we live. Those guys really have to know their trade and know how to do it fast!  I'm always impressed with what they do.

My hubby would love the lapghan. I may have to find one similar for next winter for him.  He was more cold natured this year than he has ever been.  He's been using one of those soft and fuzzy blankets and an electric blanket.

I hope your longer weekend gets you caught up, rested up, and ready to go again this week!  Talk to you, soon!

Nice to be on a first name basis.  My real name is Kim.  Kat is my initials and my alternate persona.  If I would happen to marry my honey I would become a Kaw and that sounds a little crowish.  I was a Kar by my maiden name.  ;)

Are you dealing with allergies Julie?  Do you know what the allergens are?  I totally understand the sinus headaches.  Me and my honey suffer from them too.  We give each other head massages to help relieve the pressure.

I go to a massage therapist, when I can afford him, and he showed me what to do when I'm suffering.  Last year when I was in a bad way I went to him for muscle aches but he did treatment on my sinuses with a head and face massage.  For three afterward I felt worse and was cursing him but what he did actually started the flow out of my head and after the initial shock I felt soooooo much better.  Now I'm a believer in the treatment.

Do you crochet?  This pattern I'm using is very simple.  I wanted something I could work on in my down time and not have to count stitches or pay a lot of attention to what I was doing.  I actually was working on it while listening to music and was walking, Leslie Sansone style, at the same time.  It's so cold outside I don't want to walk and this winter has been bad on my weight with not getting enough exercise.  Gravity isn't helping either.  ;)

My honey is a kart mechanic.  I know...that paints a picture of go karts at your local rental but it's not like that at all.  It's very competitive.  He coaches mostly teens that are coming in from other countries, sometimes they can't speak English and he doesn't do any language but English, although I'm thinking we both need to at least learn Spanish to get a leg up,  so they have to function on hand signals and a lot of head nods and facial expressions.  But...Formula 1 drivers and even Indy drivers do kart racing during the off season to stay in shape.  A kart is just a step down from a formula one racer so he gets to brush shoulders with some well knowns. .  They do pull g's in the turns.

During the off season he works at a local racetrack and although he isn't getting rich at what he does, he loves it.  Racing, good rock music , his family and a few close friends are his life and he loves his job.  It's important that I'm able to accept and deal with his lifestyle and that he knows I'm okay with it.

Yes I do feel more rested and got a lot of those little tidbits off of my task list this weekend.  My son came and spent a night and most of two days with me and helped me with a few things too and that was a blessing.  Plus I enjoyed his company and the alone time together.  We haven't had that in a while.

Fill me in on your particulars a little more.  I really enjoy talking to you and hey...we make a little money doing it so that's a nice perk.

Later...

I am a work at home  married lady that likes to spend time with my husband and family as much as possible.  I have a business in my home doing photo restoration, printing projects for artists, and I do a lot of printing for just about anything any body wants.  I do the small printing jobs the big printers don't want to fool with.  I have four different business I do for all the time.  I will try anything at least once that someone wants me to print.  I am working on seting up a free website for my business hope to have it up soon.  I have no kids not blessed with them.  I do have plenty of animals though horses, cats, and a wonderful husband of almost 16 years. I am very fortunate to be able to be home with my husband on a daily basis seeing how he almost died on me back in 2006 so every day is very special to me.  He is doing better now and we are starting to get to go out more and travel more.  We like to go to the mountains of Tennessee, and Florida.  We also like to garden growing veggies etc.

I love to be on FC and writing reviews for products or services.  I love working on the computer seeing how thats what I do on a daily basis.  I do want to learn how to crochet right now I can only do the first long line can't seem to make it loop and come back for nothing.  lol..  :BangHead:  is how I feel with it.  But I will get it one day I hope.  Glad to have read about you and everyone else

My name is Randall, I'm 24yrs old and I don't have any kids. I work part-time as a Courtesy Clerk and I wish I could go back to doing carpentry work of some kind. I don't have much hobbies anymore as I did when I was in high school. I just go to work and come home, thats my hobby LOL. I enjoy making money and saving it for nice things like my LG 42" tv. I enjoy being here and other sites because I like to watch the money add up over time. Anyways, thats about it :)

Hi girlswin2!  You have a very interesting job.  I wouldn't know how to restore photos and would be afraid of messing someone's precious photo up for good.  You sound multi-talented and very busy.  I do have a couple of things in common with you.  I write reviews for products and earn a little off of that.  And we have 3 cats and 1 dog.  One of the cats is my picture shown with the gray and white.  She's my kitty, named Gracie, and she does act like she's the queen of the others.  She's going on 15 years old in June.  We have plenty of farms surrounding us that have the horses (and cows.)  The horses are fun to watch, especially when they get frisky and want to run and play.

It's nice to meet you through FC and golotomer's blog.  Her blog has really taken off!!
  :)

Hi, Randall!  Glad you are on here.  My oldest son's name is Randal. He was named after my grandfather, Randol.  I liked the spelling of the "al" better than the "ol." Is the dog in your picture yours? He's (or she?) very nice looking!
Maybe one day you'll be able to get back with carpentry work. Where we live, there are always people looking for ones like you that can fix something up or make something new, and earn a little extra doing it.  Good luck!! Keep up the great work!

It's nice getting to know you, too, Kim!!  Yes, unfortunately, I have allergies to just about everything in the air!  Pollens and molds are the tops.  My problem right now, is that my allergy cells are not working right to protect me from outside influences, so I'm always getting sinus infections and chronic bronchitis.  The specialists started me on Xolair (for Allergic Asthma) 5 months ago.  I receive 2 shots a month. The medicine is supposed to go in and grab up all the IGE's (that's what they call the allergens) and protect my allergy cells from them.  I just had my 5th round and so far not much response.  But they are optimistic that they should start kicking in soon.  If they don't, they are not sure what to do next. There are only a couple of us in their office that have this, so they've had to do research on it while they go.
One of the doctors will help back me up to try and go on disability if this continues with me.  I work part-time for 3 days and it totally wears me out.  They've got me on iron, vitamin D, and B12 shots.  We will see, I guess.

Enough of my health issue, I am interested in what you said about what the massage therapist can do with the head and face massage.  I wonder if something like that would help with my sinus headaches.  Thanks for the tip!  Maybe I can try that.

I do know how to crochet.  A friend and I took it up together years ago, along with her grandmother and my grandmother. I haven't done it, though, in several years, but hopefully will in the near future.  I also do counted cross-stitch.  I love doing it, but haven't as much since carpal tunnel set in my hands.  I've had surgery on the right hand and it's great now.  But my poor left hand hasn't had the surgery yet. It goes numb and aches too bad after just a few minutes.  I also play the guitar, but it, too, is limited because of the c.t.  But I still play it some in church and with my music students at school.  Just enough to get by and keep the practice up.

Your honey has a very interesting job. Thanks for filling in a little more on what he does. My hubby retired a couple of years ago from Bellsouth (now AT & T.) He now drives a school bus part-time and loves it. We moved also a couple of years ago to the country.  It's really different, slower, and friendlier than the big city I lived in my whole life. But I'm enjoying it now.  I still go to my doctors and specialists where we lived (2 hours away) so I can still keep up with family and friends down there.

Well, I guess I had better stop, now, before I "weary" you too much!!  I hope you have a great rest of the week!  Talk to you soon!!

Well I hope the medicine does start kicking in soon for you.

You certainly are one talented lady and possess many artistic skills.  Yes living in the country is a much slower pace.  I lived for 23 years in Indianapolis but recently returned to NW PA which is where I was born and raised.  I'm living in the country again too but only several miles from a decently sized city so still have access to all the stores, yet when I get home it's all birds and squirrels.

We got another 6 or 7 inches of snow here last night.  There is a two hour delay for my school.  Nice as it will give me more time to study for my medical terminology test!

Since you crochet you will probably understand that the lapghan I'm currently making is to chain the width you want and it's simply one sc, one dc, in the same stitch, chain 2, skip two spaces across for the first row, chain two at the end and turn and repeat the one sc, one dc in the same stitch across for row 2 and all other rows.  Nothing fancy.

I was laying in bed last night thinking that I want to try to find a pattern, or create one, for one of those bed pockets...for lack of a better word...you know where a portion of it goes between the two mattreesses and has several pockets where you can put items such as a book, reading glasses, tissues that you want to keep by the bed.  We only have two tiny dressers there and they are full of lamp, plants, spare change and in my sweeties case kart parts.  :)

Well I'm off to exercise and study so will talk to you another time.  Take care and stay away from dust bunnies!

Nope, the dog don't belong to me and its actually a wolf. I wish I could have a wolf as a pet but, I don't think it will be too friendly LOL. My name on my birth certificate is actually spelled as Randell but, I changed it to Randall when I was in middle school.
