My husband and I had a good weekend.  No April Fool's jokes!!  Yesterday we went to our grandson's very first soccer game.  Not really a game, just played for fun for the four-year-olds.  But it was a nice day.  Then an  Easter egg hunt at a local park, sponsored by Parks and Rec.  I was amazed at the number of kids and parents there.  It's been a long time since I've done something like that with a youngster - not since our daughter was that age.  It has been so good having them close by.  We went to church today and had lunch in town.  Then home for my usual Sunday nap. I can't seem to get through a Sunday without a nap.   :bunny:  Later.....

Sorry, the first one quit and here it goes again. Good luck with your blog but it sounds like you are busy. I am a 50 year old disabled woman and do FusionCash to make some extra cash for fun...

Thanks for stopping by.  Yes I am busy but I still find time to collect my few cents each day from FC and say hello to my friends.  I need friends for ranting and raving!  Is FC the only money making venture you participate in or are there others too?  It's always nice to pick up some pocket change.  It's hard stretching the dollars these days.

I tried to pull a joke on Bob but he is too science savvy.  I tried to tell him that Pluto and Jupiter were in alignment and that at 6 pm there would be a bit of zero gravity which would make you feel as though you were floating.  He didn't buy it.

I'm glad you got to go to one of your grandkids games.  I don't live close enough to see mine.  I did drive 3 hours once to attend a soccer game but once out of all the games they play isn't nearly what I'd like to be able to do.

I got a Sunday nap too...in the car.  I'm like a baby...get in car, car moves, I snooze.  We went to a store where they sell kits for various homemade endeavors.  I was going to purchase a kit to grow your own mushrooms but they were out of the shitake that I wanted.  I wasn't real sure about the reisha so I decided to wait for them to restock.  Check this out....http://www.leeners.com.  You can even buy bubble gum kits.

Julie,

No I don't have a list yet but have to get my paperwork for the internship turned in by tomorrow so I'll have to get on that portion today.

Glad you heard from the MIL but be careful...very careful.  Let's hope that she does have a heart somewhere beating though and will sympathize with your plight.  The shoulder is here anytime you need it.

I worked on homework all day yesterday, except one road trip to Ohio to purchase a mushroom kit...wrote about it on another message.  STill not done with everything coming up.  Have to run and work on some English.  Big Pharmacology test tomorrow and as I mentioned more paperwork due.  Have to run.  No game time today ...besides I'm out of quests again!  Booo!

Later.

Kim

Hi Kim!

Yes, indeed, watch for the April Foolers today!   :confused1:  I hope you are enjoying your Sunday.

That's great you got your paperwork turned in - sometimes waiting is the hardest.  Do you have a list of other places that accept all of you for those hours?  Otherwise, how would you know who to contact?  Humor the naive me, right?!

I did hear back from the mil.  I was frankly surprised she was cordial.  She said they were fine and getting big.  She also said she would "ask" if she, along with the girls, could meet me somewhere when I go down there for my appts. again.  I told her thank you very much.  Now, don't get me wrong - I'm not totally believing this at all - with her past history of lies.  I have hope, maybe, but will not expect this to happen unless she's serious.  I was just surprised she did respond, and that she was nice instead of cursing her usual at me.  My dtr asked me who I was "talking" to, and as soon as I started to tell her who and what she was saying, she said, "Oh, my gosh; like you are going to believe her?; you need to forget about it."  I didn't read anymore, took my laptop and left the room.  She asked me first, for goodness sakes.  So, I guess I will just zip the lips and say nothing to any of them even if they ask.  :-X  It's like son/grands no longer exist and so no more speaking of it, period.

Ok, rant over, thank you for the shoulder.

Hope you and Nellie had a nice visit!  It sounds like you both got a lot done with the pictures.

Talk to you, later,

Julie

Hi and welcome!  I hate typing something out, and then it vanishes!  It's nice to make some extra cash for those fun or meaningful times, or even help with a late bill.  I've got health issues, too, and am trying to get SSDI.  It's taking forever to do this.  Hope to see you again!  :)

Kim,

I wrote a bunch, then transferred it to email.  I did get all of my SSDI "book" for the attorneys finally filled out, signed, and mailed off today.  That was a lot!  Probably like what you are doing with your paperwork!

Hope you do well on your test tomorrow and get all of your paperwork done.

I've never even given any thought to a mushroom kit.  I have to be careful with them anyway - being allergic to mold and spores.  I guess that's probably why I haven't thought about it, lol.

Thanks for the shoulder,

Julie :)

Julie,

Glad you got the SSDI stuff rolling.  When do you meet again with the lawyers...or do you?

I went to intern yesterday and found out that the doctor and both MA's plus the offic manager were off work.  I wasn't told in advance.  Weird.  I came home and got some more homework done and Bob and I took a bike ride.  I did make it a little farther up the hill without crapping out so I guess I'm making some progress getting stronger.

I only have two classes on Tuesday and they are altering the schedule today and making each class only 50 minutes, some teacher activity this afternoon, so I'm cutting class.  I already told the teacher and she was okay with my decision.  I have all of my assignments done for her class so I'm just going to work and get some other things caught up for other classes.

Keep me posted on the other "stuff".

Kim

Hi Kim,

That's pretty neat about taking today off to do some catch up things.  It's a shame you weren't told about yesterday.  But it gave you opportunity to get outside and bike and enjoy the outdoors for awhile with Bob.  I'm glad you are gaining more strength.

I'm not sure about a hearing date, as of yet.  May 8 is the deadline for all to be done and a hearing date set up.  It's all in the attorney's hands now (as soon as she receives everything from me this week.)  She's out of Orlando, and I guess the only time I will meet her will be at the hearing, which would either be in FL, where I go for my dr. appts., or in GA, at the courthouse in our little town.  Unless, per chance, SSDI decides to approve my case and forgo the hearing.  I have heard they sometimes do that once the attorneys get involved and show so much more than I could have and word everything in their attorney language.

I sent you an update e-mail a few minutes ago.

It's so pretty outside, today.  But as it is rather warm, I have to enjoy it from the inside.  It's fun watching all of the birds at the feeders and birdbath.  Today, there are the usual cardinals, ground doves, cowbirds, and chipping sparrows.  There are a couple of bluebirds and a red-winged blackbird hanging around, too.

They were saying on our news last night that our summer here may actually be a little cooler than normal.  To me, it would only make sense, considering our milder winter we had.  I'm keeping my fingers crossed on this!!

Hope you are enjoying your day "off!"

Julie,

It was pretty here yesterday too.  Just about paradise weather...not too hot or too cold.  We realized we have a bird's nest on the sill of one of the bedroom windows.  The window is just high enough or I'm so short that I can barely see down into the nest.  I'll have to get a stool today to see if I can see the eggs, assuming there are any.

We have a bunch of birds here too.  Bob never took many of the trees off the property and we really only mow the back several times a summer so the birds have free dominion over the back yard.  We have a couple of flying squirrels, gray and brown squirrels too.  One morning Bob heard a woodpecker but the sound was louder than normal so he got up to look.  It was a real Woody the Woodpecker!  It was about 2 feet tall with the big comb on it.  I have seen small woodpeckers here but I'd love to see the bigger one.

I'll be hanging the feeders soon for the humming birds and finch feeders.  I get far more finches, the bright yellow, than I do hummers but I always get at least 3 or 4 hummers too.  I know one lady that probably gets 40 hummers.  She doesn't seem to do anything special other than hanging her hangers but they must flock to that area for some odd reason.

I make my own food using a ratio of 1 cup of sugar to 4 cups water but a girl at school said she uses 2 cups sugar to 2 water.  I don't know which is the best but need to find out for this year.  Do you feed the hummers?

Gotta run.  I have that Phamacology test today so need a last minute study on that.

Later...

Kim,

That's neat having a bird's nest on the window sill.  Maybe you can see down in there with a stool.  Let me know if there are any eggs and if you know what type of bird it is.  :)

Your back yard sounds like a paradise for the birds and other critters.  That would be fun to watch.  Our back area is long, but only with the few trees we planted.  They like the trees, feeders, and birdbath.  All of the major trees are on the back part of our property - so that's where all of the squirrels are and where the birds go when they aren't up closer to the house.  Sometimes a couple of brave squirrels will make it to the feeders until Roddy goes after them, lol.  We also love seeing the rabbits in the late afternoons and still dark mornings up at the feeders and across the yard.  There are also 3 does that must live in the woods on our back property - we see them often at night or before dawn.  They are so pretty and graceful.

We haven't fed the hummers yet, but have 2 already made kits we bought for starters.  We're looking forward to starting with them now!  After the given nectar, I guess we'll mix our own like you do.  I would think if your hummers enjoy your mix with a less cup sugar then either mixture would probably be okay.  You could try both and see which one more seem to flock too.  Let me know.  I have seen the real Woody the Woodpecker once here.  He was always pecking in the pines between our neighbors and us.  They cut the pines down on the back where he stayed and we haven't seen him since, even though we can hear him in the back woods.

Hope you do well on your test!  Fingers crossed!

"See" you later!

Julie  :)

Yes, good luck on your tests, Kim.  I am also crossing my fingers.

I went to Charlottesville today to pick up my computer from the Geek Squad at Best Buy.  I'm not impressed with the Geek Squad, but it was beautiful in C'ville, with all the spring trees and flowers.

Thanks girls for the good wishes on my test.  She didn't get them all corrected yesterday so I won't know the score until next Wednesday....We don't have her class until then because of Good Friday and Monday being holidays.  I don't feel like I aced it but I don't think I failed it either.  Either way...it's done.

We went last night and bought the lumber I need for my raised garden bed.  It won't be that large as I'm only going to plant a few tomatoes but it cost 60 dollars for the lumber!  Ouch.  Now I have to see about getting some top soil hauled in.

I wish I could say I had a couple of extra days off of school but I have to intern and get some extra hours in.  I just hope to have my hours completed so I can truly be off during my spring break.  I think it's a total of 20 days.  Thankfully the last leg of the journey will be upon me.  Unfortunately there still aren't any jobs out there to entice me.  They have laid off over 100 people at our one local hospital and the doctor's offices are cutting staff and hours too.

Juanita I wish I could see Charlottesville this time of year.  I was only there once in the spring and it was beautiful.

Later girls.  Have a good day.

I can only imagine how beautiful it is there now!  I hope your computer is working right.  Seems like now-a-days, we can't survive without our computer or laptop, lol.  I hope your week is going well.  Talk to you soon!  :)
