I cashed out today for the second time. I received my $3 for posting which helped me to cash out today and I also applied for my second $3 bonus.

That's great!!  That $3.00 really helps to reach that monthly goal, too!!  Keep up the great earnings!  :)

Hi Kim,

I was thinking about you today hoping your first day of internship was going well.  Are you taking both classes and doing the internship?  Forgive my brain depletion if I've already asked you this, lol.

I'm glad your son is coming to visit for a week.  I hope things go really well for you both.  Still nothing from mine.

My pulmonologist called today and told me my overnight oxygen test shows I need oxygen at night.  It goes down in the lower 70s during the night.  I'm so relieved - I would much rather have the oxygen (like I did before) than the c-pap.  The oxygen made me feel better first thing in the mornings.  At least this new one listens, re-did some tests, and came to a conclusion that is best for me.  Tonight's my first night on it.

I hope Bob has a safe and productive trip.  Have a nice Thursday!

Julie,

I'm glad you will be getting the oxygen.  It will probably make a big difference in how you feel.  I'd rather have that than the cpap too.

Yes I am doing both classes, in the mornings, and the internship.  My classes all end at noon or 1 and then I go directly to the ENT office.  I was really tired last night.  I didn't leave their office until 5.  Then I had homework.  I'm hoping I can do the bulk of my homework on the weekends.  Fixing dinner is going to be my biggest problem.  By the time I get home I'm really hungry.

There is one doctor and one nurse practioner in our office.  They are just now going to Electronic Medical Records, EMR, so the office is a buzz of activity getting all of the records scanned and into the computers.  I'll be helping in the office and the clinical.  I assisted the doctor with a minor surgery yesterday, removing a small polyp from a woman's nose.  All I did was hold a light and hand her the gauze and I held the woman's arm and patted her to soothe her.  Saw my first blood.  There was a man in there with suspected MRSA and I was ready to come home, change clothes and get a shower.

I think it will be okay though and all of the assistance in the office have graduated from my school and were hired after their internship.  They only let one person go as they said "it just didn't work out".

It looks like I won't have to do blood draws and the majority of shots given would be allergy.  I think I can handle that.

Later girlfriend.

Hi Kim,

Goodness you have some busy days ahead.  Do you ever cook with the crock pot?  I used that a lot when I worked full time at State Farm before our little ones came.  You always have good ideas, though, and I know you're working on that diet.  Hope it's going well for you.

My PCP's office finally got switched over to the EMR - there are still little bugs here and there but it's doing much better now.  However, when I went in 2 weeks ago, the computers went down so they had to revert to Plan B (old fashioned way, lol.)  Goodness, you got a strong start with the woman's nose and I don't blame you for wanting the shower with the suspected MRSA.  I really hope all goes great with this so you can get hired there.  (That is, if you like it!)

I go for my labwork in the morning (Friday) for the auto immune panels.  Then I'm going to my PCP about the pinched nerve and see what I should do next.  I slept pretty good last night.  Their tubing that goes around my ears and at my nose, is so soft and light that you hardly know you're wearing that.  I can handle that.  The machine is very quiet although it makes a loud long beep when you first turn it on.  Lol, 2 of the cats, on my bed, took off scrambling into each other to race out of the room.  They came back about 30 minutes later and snuggled on each side of me.  They were too funny.

Have a nice Friday and a great weekend.  Talk to you later!

Julie,

That's funny about the cats!  Glad the oxygen is helping.  I probably learn a lot about allergies because they do one day a week on education for food allergies, testing and shots.

I'll get the food problem worked out.   I used to use the crock pot a lot too and also cooked and froze on the weekends.  It's all a matter of getting back in the groove and on a schedule.

Bob took me out for dinner last night and I was glad.  Today I don't intern and I'll be home early so I can play catch up.

Good luck with all of the testing today.  I guess the groundhog saw his shadow so another six weeks of winter....duh... It's only February.

Hi Kim,

Yeah, about that groundhog:  6 more weeks of cold weather when we're already having spring, lol!!  This will be interesting.

I got my lab work done this morning, then went for my appt.  My dr. said this pinched nerve could actually be a combination of different things.  Like the pinched nerve, or a pulled muscle, or a bulging disc.  She knew which spots to touch that would hit the bad spot, including total and quick numbness/tingling throughout the entire arm and hand.  She sent me for neck x-rays then.  And she's ordered an MRI for next week.  I didn't get home until after 5:00.  There was also a wreck on the highway where someone had lost control and left the highway with their car split off in 3 pieces wrapped around the trees.  The ambulance must have left since the tow truck was there.  That was sad.  I hope they were ok but have no idea.

That was nice of Bob to take you out for dinner.  Glad you had an early day, too.

Hope you have a nice weekend!  Our pastor and his wife, and his mom and dad, invited us out to eat tomorrow late afternoon.  We all got gift cards to a steak place for Christmas so they want us to go.  We've not been there yet ourselves.  That will be nice to go out!

"See" you tomorrow!

Julie,

Glad the day of testing is done.  I know a pinched nerve can be a nightmare.  I still have one knee that is numb from a bulging disc in my back from about 5 years ago.  I was in a wheelchair for 3 weeks, walked with a cane for a while and was in severe pain for quite a while.  I hope they find the problem and can fix it for you.  Stretching really helps me.  I can't sit or lay in one position for very long without discomfort.

Enjoy your dinner with your pastor!  I have a bunch of housework and homework to do...story of my life for right now.  Bob is leaving Monday morning but we have to go to Erie to get the sprinter he will be driving on Sunday night.  Picking my son up Sunday morning.  I'm going to have Bob leave me his Jaquar (it's an old one!) because the check engine light is on in my car and I'm afraid it might conk on me while he is gone.  He looked things over but there isn't anything apparent and it's still running okay.

We'll probably go out to eat again this weekend.  My birthday is Tuesday and Valentines Day is next week and he'll be gone.  My BD is kind of a sore spot with me because that was when he had set his "date" last year.  I then found out around the 16th so this is kind of a traumatic time for me.

Gotta run.  I've been invited to a party at Ravenwood Fair and I have to get going.  :)

Kim,

Wow!  That had to have been rough with that bulging disc in your back.  What do they actually do when there is a bulging disc like that?  I hope that's not what is wrong in my neck.  Pain pills help for a bit - but with all of the other meds I take, some of which keep me low key, I hate feeling so sleepy so often.  I have some stretching exercises to do gently, and the dr. told me I may have to go to physical therapy also.  I don't like the idea of going to a chiropractor either, but she said that there are certain massage-type or impression type of things they can do to help the tightness, instead of the other things they do.  My shoulder is as "tight as a rock" she said.

I hope you get to go out this weekend for your birthday.  I know the day has a shadow on it for you and I hope things for the future changes for the absolute best for you so that shadow can fade out for you.  My younger son's birthday is today - He's 26, and so far he's heard nothing from his brother.  I didn't realize yours and mine are the same month!  Mine's the 24th.

I hope your son still stays with you for the week and that all goes well.

Have fun at the party, lol!!  Hope today is a great day!

Julie  :)

Julie,

My back problem was a combination of a collapsed and bulging disc.  I had to have an epidural to move past the pain, took anti-inflammatories, had therapy with a chiropractor that consisted of the ultrasound treatments, massages, those electrodes that are warm and moist, stretching exercises and pain pills.  They determined that I also had osteopenea so I had to start taking calcium and am supposed to do weight bearing exercising to strengthen the bone.  They said if the disc went back in place and the bone didn't start to fuse I could have surgery where they would put a type of cement in to build that area that had collapsed.  I also had over 28 pinched nerves.  My pain radiated all the way to my toes.

I believe in chiropractic care to the nth.  I have had two bouts in my life where I either couldn't walk at all or could barely walk and both times they got me moving again.  Another thing I was told to do was stop drinking anything with Aspartame.  They thought I was experiencing a type of muscle problem from it.  I use only splenda or truvia.

I sure hope they figure out a treatment plan that helps you.  I understand the pain and you have enough to deal with with your allergies.

I had a great time at the fair yesterday.  I haven't danced, or jumped up and down, so much in years.

Kim,

That was rough for you.  You must have wondered if you would ever feel normal again - good grief!  What you wrote about therapy with the chiropractor gives me a little better idea of what they do.  My doctor was trying to tell me about some of this but you wrote it where my brain could understand it a little better.  I sure am glad you are okay now.  Will something like that ever come back to bother you again?  I hope not.  I guess I should find out tomorrow about the x-rays.  Then wait on the referral set up for the MRI.  This afternoon, I started feeling that same pain/slight tingling down my left leg.  I wasn't really making any connection with it until I read about how yours affected yours down to your toes.  28 pinched nerves?  Good grief - how much pain can a person have?

I did go to church this morning.  After lunch, I took a pain pill.  I was trying to do things on here and on FB.  Next thing I know it's 3 hours later - I woke up with my hand on the mouse and all kinds of windows open from the mouse clicking on stuff, lol.  Oh well, the nap did me good.

Glad you had fun at the fair!!  They're so cute, aren't they?  I'm so trying to get back into my games.  With everything that's been going on with the family issues, the med. tests, asthma, and pain, it's hard to get too involved and stick with it.  Plus, after typing for a few minutes, my left hand hurts from the numbness and so I have to stop.  So, I'm still doing minimal.  Please don't give up on me, okay?  One of your friends befriended me who plays the games, too.  Maybe you could just let her know not to give up on me either.  Thanks!!

While Bob is gone, if you want to or need to talk or say hi, please don't hesitate to call!  Hope your son is with you for the week and that all goes great with you two.

Talk to you later,

Julie  :)

Julie,

Falling to sleep at the keyboard is a situation I've been familiar with too.  You will probably be amazed at what chiropractic care can do for you.  I also have a guy that does deep muscle massage on me and he is good at releasing the nerve tension when it gets bad.  The main thing I have found is to keep moving and stretching seems to help.  I know I should walk more than I do because that helps to keep the muscles in shape and they help to support the bones which keeps everything in alignment too.

Whether it could come back on me is an unknown.  I think the last time it happened from sitting too long at work, generally being out of shape and from pushing a dining room cabinet across a room (on moving men).

I wouldn't advise any exercise right now until you talk to the doctor.

I'm not sure which of my friends connected with you in games so don't know who to tell about your problem.  Don't worry about it though.  You are the most important person to be concerned about right now.

Prayers coming your way.  Big hug.

Good morning Kim,

The doctor mentioned massaging gently my shoulders, but with my 3 in this household, that's a no-go.  2 have weak and/or painful wrists/hands because of their arthritis, and hubby has carpal tunnel in his (and won't get something done.)  So I don't even bother them - I know how that ache feels in the wrists and hands myself and couldn't do that to them.  I would love to find someone who could help me, though.

Well, Monday is already here - fast weekend!  Did you watch any of the Super Bowl last night?  It seems like today, everyone is talking more about the commercials than the game, lol.  There were some neat ones, for sure!

Hope you have a nice day, today, and that the interning goes well.  Did you pick your son up?

Thanks for the prayers and the big hug - greatly needed and much appreciated!

{{Hugs}} to you, too!    HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!      HOPE YOU HAVE A PERFECT DAY!!!    :star:

Julie  :)

Hi Diana,

I hope things slow down for you too so you can get things done.  I know you must be excited.  Not much new with me other than the internship and learning the how tos of the office.

Have a great day.

Julie,

Thanks for the BD wishes.  Yes my son is here with me this week.  He has been doing odd jobs around the house to help me out.  That's nice!

Hope you are feeling some better.
