Our daughter is having Thanksgiving at her house this year.

This will be the first time we have had a family holiday NOT at our house.

We are looking forward to it.

That depends on whether or not my husband has to work on Thanksgiving this year.  If he does, my daughter and I will be going to my parents' house.  I've always loved getting up and spending the morning cooking with my mother... I've always considered it the best day of the year.  Then, we will be taking food to both my husband and whomever he will be working with that night.  My daughter and I will stay with my husband while he eats, and then we will go back to my parents' house for dessert.  My parents will keep my daughter overnight, and I'll spend the night alone with my hubby.  Then, the next day we will go see my parents again, have leftovers, and and birthday cake (my birthday is the day before Thanksgiving).

If my husband does not have to work, this is our year to be with his family.  So, we'll make the trip up north (about a 90 minute drive) and eat with his family.  Then, I'll probably have a few glasses of wine with my mother in law to celebrate my birthday.  I'll miss the cooking, though, so I'll probably refuse to go unless I can bring a dish or two to dinner!
