Aww post pics! This is what worked for my two puppies, You get an empty pop can and put a few pennies inside. Everytime you see them having an accident in the house go right by their ears and start shaking the can and very firmly say "NO" and immedietely take them outside to go potty. If they go to the bathroom while outside quickly reward them with a treat and go overboard with the praise. (Just like a baby lol). It may take a few times but be consistent, eventually they will learn outside is the only place where they are supposed to go. In the meantime, take them outside every hour or so to relieve themself, then you can go to every 2 hours, 3 hours and so forth. Remember to keep giving their favorite treats everytime after they go, (I did for a few months) so they will love to go outside. And soon they will be letting you know when it's time to go outside. Try it out!   :dog:

prillycake hit the whole process right on the nose!!  I would also use crates as "time out" in conjunction with the hourly incrementation of potty runs.  penny cans work well for cats too.  also make the newspaper unavailable...if they know they CAN go in the house, they will.

Maybe the reward system will assist you in teaching them how to handle their "duty".  Sometimes that helps.  :dontknow:

Good point on removing the newspaper, they probably are thinking it's ok to go in the house. Thats why I don't care for puppy pads. A friend of mine from work was staying with us and she had a dog. She would set up the puppy pad in her room she was staying in and swore that it couldn't leak through and was heavy duty. Well when she left, we lifted up the carpet and sure enough, it did leak through. I wasn't too happy about that

I have 6 puppies or doggies, they are crate trained and when we open the door we immediately let them out. they take care of their business and come back in and are well behaved. Works for me.

I trained my Rott with a cage. And by a year old, she was fully house broken. However, the cage has to fit the dog. You do not want to give them too much room at first because they can still have accidents. And some dogs really have a hard time with it. My brother's pugs were very had to train. Has the dog been spayed or neutred? Sometimes, that helps. Also, control when they eat or drink, and take them out within an hour of eating or drinking.

Aww babiesss! They are so cute i will babysit them!
I just noticed it's funny how the mom and her pup next to her look alike and have the same exact positioning and expressions, and behind them the dad and his son do too! Too cute

When I was trying to train my little poodle, I used a newspaper. It took a while but she finally got the hang of it. I would give her a treat every time she would use her paper. She is 16 yrs. old and blind now, but she can still use her paper.

Well I have a 7 month old Chiuhaua don't know how to spell it, her name is Moca. I got her when sh was 2 months old and trained her by using wee wee pads. They are the best things to train a puppy with. I mean she has her accidents here and there but for the most part she goes on them. I wish I had a picture of her to show you guys. Train your puppy early if not then they will think that they can go anywhere they want. That would be a hot mess.lol
