HOME REMEDIES FOR GREAT HAIR!
« on: October 23, 2010, 05:49:45 am »
I use coconut oil as a moisturizer and it works great on my hair.  You leave it in overnight and wash it out in the morning.  Does anyone have any other great ideas for healthy hair

Oh yeah! I love home made hair treatments!! Once a week I do this: After washing my hair, I cover it (from the ends and work up) with my Dove Intensive Therapy Conditioner; pile it up on my head and wrap it with plastic wrap so it's tight against my head; then take a heated towel - I use a TurbiTwist- and cover my plastic- encased hair. I usually leave it on for about an hour, reheating the towel as needed, then rinse and my hair looks great and feels amazing. I once did this with mayo and it really did work, but when I got the same effect using my conditioner I decided to leave the condiments in the fridge lol.

Great ideas. My hair really needs a good conditioning right now. I tried the Mayo before and it did work really well. Then Mayo and Egg...olive oil, that was a mess. My hair gets so dry and frizzy this time of year.

Many years ago I put beer on it, and when I went to work the next day everybody there complimented how beautiful it was. Should try that more often.

I rinse my hair with diluted vinegar.  It helps cut down the stiffness caused by hard water.

I've used mayonnaise in my hair a few times, it conditions it very well. Also olive oil is good for deep conditioning. Eggs are suposed to be good to. Lol just open up your fridge and start making dinner in your head! Don't forget to wash it out with nice smelling shampoo and conditioner guys.

Oil, mayo and eggs are good but I rather just use a green shampoo. I found some great shampoo that keeps hair clean for a few days without rewashing for those days that you just cant make it to the shower.
