Trick-or-Treat.....Do you still let your kids do it?
« on: October 18, 2010, 06:04:26 am »
Do you still let your children trick-or-treat?  We still go out but only to the houses on our streat (about 10).  I feel safe about this but wonder if parents still let their children rome the streets like we did when we were kids.

Kids are all grown now, but I push to let the grands still go out. Coming up I loved Trick or Treat and I still do.  I might get dressed and go out myself.  You just have to be aware and check the treats with the kids when they get in. If your afraid to let them out, giving a little party might help, and they can still have the fun of dressing up.

Children need to still be children even in this world.

Things like trick-or-treating teach them valuable life skills, and you can still keep a watchful eye on your child while still letting them go and experience the world.

They can't live in a padded bubble room forever, unless you're trying to raise co-dependent child.

Base housing is always safer.

Will you let them go out by themselves or like in a group?
My baby is still only 9mo's old so she's far too young to go out, so we're going to dress her up and hand out candy for the kids.

No I do not let my kids trick or treat. We either go to the church or I plan activites for them at home. Times are so critical right.

I always go with my kids but we go to the same houses every year.  They actually get quite a bit of candy and we go as a huge group.  My sisters and all of their kids, my mom, etc.

My older nephew lives with us and him and his friends will go out but my little girl is only a yr old so we have to go with her too.

Well yeah - why wouldn't you?  I remember a year or 2 when my Mom (a big christian) wouldn't let us go because it was a devil's night.  Seriously?  Who doesn't let their kids go trick or treating?

I love the fact that the malls are allowing for safe trick or treating. at least you wont b left going from house to house without having anyone home.

With the sick perverts out  and about, I would never allow my child to go trick or treating.  Buy the treats your self and make a game of it.
