I love dressing, pickled corn and buttered rolls, punch, and banana pudding!  I also love to bake homemade goodies from scratch for my husband to take to work.  We make buckeyes, peanut butter pinwheels, no bake cookies, divinity...so much sugar!

Ahh the holidays I love to eat during this time of year. The smells are intoxicating. I love to eat pumpkin pies and maple butter glaze pumpking pancakes.

Oh Amy, I adore divinity, and can't make it well myself.  I get it sometimes at the store during the holidays, but it's nothing like homemade.  It's actually my favorite candy   My grandma used to make it, but she's gone now.

Its my grandma's recipe, and she got it from her mom...so the recipe is about a century old.  She called it "seafoam candy" though.  She also gave me her recipe for gingerbread...I craved it while I was pregnant.  The best thing to keep the morning sickness away!

Seafoam candy is an old fashioned name for it.  Any chance of you passing on the recipe to me?  I know thats asking a lot.  We could exchange it for like.....my 101 year old pie crust recipe?  Or my own (personally made up) recipe of black bottom coffee cake, that has won recognition.  Nobody else has it.

OH so many choices and so little time, lol.
My favorite things have always been my mamas
chocolate pie and grandmas sugar cookies. But seriously,
can we really choose... :)

Divinity is made with white sugar. When you substitute brown sugar, it becomes 'sea foam'. Just some childhood trivia I remember from my Aunt Alydia. She was the baker and sweets maker in the family, used to spend hours at her side. Even though I have never really been huge on sweet stuff as far as eating it, I loved to be her helper when she made it all. ;)

My favorite holiday food is not just one item.  I enjoy the whole thanksgiving and Christmas meals.  I can't wait.  That meal consists of turkey, ham,  homemade mac and cheese, collards, dressing, yams, fried chicken, chicken & dumplings and all kinds of pies and cakes.

I forgot to even say my favorite. I really can't choose one either because it's all good. I am the one who does all the major holiday meals at my home, so by the time I get done 'sampling' everything as I cook (starting very early in the morning), it's almost hard to eat a huge amount by the time we sit down - but I still do! :P Others bring/make side dishes, so I always enjoy those just because I didn't have to make them all for the 20-25 family and friends at the table. I really love and appreciate just having us all in one place for the day and night, so it's not all about the food.

Amy, your Gingerbread comment makes sense.  There's something in Ginger that settles your stomach.  I drink Ginger Ale when I'm flying.  I have trouble with the take off, and when we are descending to land (a bit queasy). After reaching cruising altitude I'm fine.  Just those two instances.  A couple Ginger Ales take care of the problem.

Your right who could really choose a favorite, but mine is pumkin rolls for Thanksgiving or Date loaf at Christmas. Or divinty if the sun will shine.

I love sampling while cooking.  Probably why I love to cook!  LOL.

Sure, LOL, I'll send it to you on FB.  Let me dig it out first, though.
