Sometimes there is no "stilling the waters" with two opposing sides.  Forgiveness can be applied in any situation, but that doesn't mean you must put yourself in another vulnerable position, or place yourself right back in the line of fire.  I've tried to make peace many times only to have it mocked, thrown back in my face, or called false/fraud.  While others may not agree with what you believe or hold dear, there's no reason to verbally shred them.

I've had words weighed and picked apart, and then skewered with them, when I haven't said anything different than any other Christian on this forum.  Only thing is, I won't ride the fence or say something is okay when it clearly is not.  How easy forgotten all the previous posts that have led to this point.

The winds of compromise are not something I adhere to when it comes to the Word of God, or my Faith.  It's natural to find opposition when there are totally 2 different sides of thought.  The Bible clearly points out that there is no fellowship in a case such as that.  If your asking me to compromise my beliefs, it isn't going to happen.

I don't appreciate being cussed out, called a *bleep*, my belief mocked, negative titles, etc., so excuse me while I try to remove the knife from my back.  It didn't come from my side of the fence.

Annella, you are so right with what you are saying. There's been a lot of name calling of you in here by a few that I really don't understand where the strong undercurrents and animosity are coming from.  Hang in there and remember:  For each one name calling, you have a supporter.  I don't understand what is going on in their heads, but I do feel it has gone too far.

Walksalone, all I can really say is hang in there (sounds like you are doing just that.)  Please take this with a grain of salt if you so choose, but I have already prayed for you (for your strength and spirit.) Your people are very fortunate to have you standing up for them and with them - keep up the hard and wonderful work!

I would like to add a postscript here by saying that even though I posted the above quote, it doesn't mean that I support the animosity you have toward Annella.  You are dealing with a lot, but it shouldn't be an excuse to treat someone on these forums with cursing. Also, a Christian can be goaded only so much before coming back in defense in righteous anger.  She could have cursed back at you, but she did not. And not just you - there are others that have been goading her as well.  She is defending her stance as a Christian leader, and has not deserved to be backed into a corner, so to speak.  I support her standing up for herself and for her/my Lord.

Yes, there was one particular thread that led to this one being started by Walks. It is 15 pages long, has 215 replies (minus any deleted ones), and I posted 4 times in it toward the middle. It is back on page 6 of D&D topics. There is a lot of 'nastiness' in it from many who posted throughout the entire thread, but yet, I am the ultimate bad guy as always.

No........there is more than one thread.  The quickest way is to pull up people's posts and read them, instead of going through the various threads.  It's easier to get a good idea what's being addressed, and then if you want to, you can pull up the whole thread from there.

The question asked by Sheryl was if there was a thread that made THIS one happen. That is what I answered and the thread I referenced is exactly the one that prompted this. It can be seen by Walks referencing the "pearls and swine" comments (made in the other one) between you, Annella, and QON. It is on page one of this thread and was posted on the same day the other thread received it's last reply:

All I was saying is that there are MANY threads where you, qon, and Walksalone have had conversations where we did not agree.  All of those threads have led up to this one.  This thread is not unique by a long shot as there are numerous threads with the same content of downgrading, cussing, calling names, goading, etc.  Get your facts straight because I never called anyone a swine.  Go back and read the thread. 

People can still read both of our posts and get a good idea what's been going on from the beginning.  However, you really stepped it up after I came back from the Philippines.  Unless you've gone back and deleted some of your posts?  I've actually saved, and printed off every one of such threads.

I use them for study materials.  Our young people are pretty sheltered and I want them to see what they are up against in some circles.  I use a lot of different material for preaching/teaching.  It's life.

You print our threads and pass them out to strangers?  That's creepy.  I wouldn't put it beneath you that you edit them beforehand just so you can butter up your side.

There are countless members on this forum who are complete strangers to you. They read the posts, they look at your profile, why is it creepy to print the conversations and show to other people? I have printed stuff from here to show my pastor to ask him questions and his thoughts about my answers or others statements. He might be a stranger to you, but he isn't to me.

This is a public forum, what you post is not confidential, and more people read what you say than respond to you. So again...what's the big deal?

Oh and I didn't edit anything because I have more integrity than that. But I'm a stranger so I guess you wouldn't know that.

Of course not.  Why would I change what I wrote?  It's reference just like anything else.  It makes good fodder for teaching what actually goes on in the real world.

Your comments are especially funny to my group of young people.  One night they stood over my shoulder during one of my sessions online here.  We laughed until we cried.  There are people that can come on here as a guest (non members) and access the forum.  If you don't want your comments "out there", then why do you post on a public forum?  There's no copyright on the material.  Unless of course your lying about what you believe or your falsifying what you actually write about.

There are many people who are not how they portray themselves as being online. However, if you don't lie or falsify what you are, or appear to be, then you shouldn't be worried what you say or write.

I have printed off the debates between you and Sherene about evolution, etc.  Her research and understanding is much more in depth than mine.  I use her postings to actually "teach" on the subject, and others.  Everyone likes her, and thinks she's one of the smartest people on here.  They're right.
