She is a 28-year-old with the mental state of a 12-year-old.

It makes no difference what one dead man said about god, no matter his position.  You could pick and choose quotes where I said I believed in god from my life, too.

Einstein - like many of the other not-very-religious famous people that Christians like to cherry-pick quotes from - also said many a negative thing about the Christian god:

"The word god is for me nothing more than the expression and product of human weaknesses, the Bible a collection of honourable, but still primitive legends which are nevertheless pretty childish. No interpretation no matter how subtle can (for me) change this."

-- Albert Einstein, in a letter responding to philosopher Eric Gutkind, who had sent him a copy of his book Choose Life: The Biblical Call to Revolt; quoted from James Randerson, "Childish Superstition: Einstein's Letter Makes View of Religion Relatively Clear: Scientist's Reply to Sell for up to £8,000, and Stoke Debate over His Beliefs" The Guardian, (13 May 2008)

"I cannot imagine a God who rewards and punishes the objects of his creation, whose purposes are modeled after our own -- a God, in short, who is but a reflection of human frailty. Neither can I believe that the individual survives the death of his body, although feeble souls harbor such thoughts through fear or ridiculous egotisms."

-- Albert Einstein, obituary in New York Times, 19 April 1955, quoted from James A Haught, "Breaking the Last Taboo" (1996)

"It seems to me that the idea of a personal God is an anthropological concept which I cannot take seriously. I also cannot imagine some will or goal outside the human sphere.... Science has been charged with undermining morality, but the charge is unjust. A man's ethical behavior should be based effectually on sympathy, education, and social ties and needs; no religious basis is necessary. Man would indeed be in a poor way if he had to be restrained by fear of punishment and hope of reward after death."

-- Albert Einstein, "Religion and Science," New York Times Magazine, 9 November 1930

"It was, of course, a lie what you read about my religious convictions, a lie which is being systematically repeated. I do not believe in a personal God and I have never denied this but have expressed it clearly. If something is in me which can be called religious then it is the unbounded admiration for the structure of the world so far as our science can reveal it."

-- Albert Einstein, 1954, from Albert Einstein: The Human Side, edited by Helen Dukas and Banesh Hoffman, Princeton University Press

Well if he couldn't tie his shoes then i guess we will never know how he truly felt about God.

The 'couldn't tie his own shoes' is yet another totally unfounded and undocumented piece of info.

Logic will get you from A to B. Imagination will take you everywhere.
logic will get you from point a to point b. Imagination gets you nowhere. (unless you write tv shows, etc.)

I admire Albert Einstein alot, mostly because of the fact that his mind was amazing-and he also reportedly had ADHD. Having said that-I still haven't changed not one bit just because a famous figure in history quoted about his personal beliefs in God!

Albert Einstein's mathematical and scientific genius contribution to this world speak volumes and have so much more of an attainable outcome in real life situations today, while that quote of his belief in God is just a fleeting thought-in-a-bucket-to me!

Why she posted that quote, I have no Idea!  It was kind of pointless. Marie should not have to reach back so far to try to find some "goddly allies" in history to make her point and convince others to believe what they will not- the sign that maybe she isn't all too comfortable with her own beliefs to begin with!!! It's kinda like she's saying "See?? I told ya so!" But it falls upon deaf ears!!!

Oh, well GOOD TIMES!!!

That's just it Marie, I dont "just figure" or "listen" to people, EVEN if they are geniuses!  I make the decision on my own, without a "flocky" mentality of the masses, no matter who it is! I am my own person, free of the toxic influences and fallacies of mankind! Like I said, If I see it in front of my face, and I can touch it with my own hands (not be "touched" by, like you apparently believe in) then I'm game!!
Otherwhise, don't waste your time!
That's a quote for ya!

I figure people listen to people who know what they are talking about...and I think Einstein knew what he was talking about.

That would be the Appeal to Authority fallacy, dear.

A~Except for the two commonalities between us~we are both human beings and female....... we are not  alike at all as far as the "meeting of the minds" goes! Good times!

B~There is a difference between believing in what a scientist tells ya, and actually seeing what they have done-Scientist come up with theories all day, I'm a big nerd-I can listen to a Scientist theorize just about any subject all day long! But untill they can actually put their theories in real world experiments and generate feisable results, its still just a theory!!! That's why Scientist use the Scientific method, to test every possibility and outcome evenly, so the next time they speak to the people about their progress on a specific issue or theory-they have come to a workable conclusion, with solid evidence, NOT just theory or a guess!!!!!

C~Scientists are not Gods, nor can they be a substitute or an excuse for the reasoning behind the belief in the exsistence of God! Science is just science~extremely fascinating, but not "god" like.

That's like saying "WOW, this guy cured cancer-he also likes to put cocktail weenies in his ears and walk down the streets naked, saying, "Bow down to the Master Blaster!"

" Hmm-I have come to a conclusion"- "I think I would also like to do that Too!"

                                                         Which one??????

D~Yes, Marie-taking in the info and coming up with your own conclusion is good, just as long as you don't "flock" it out to people with the preconcieved notion that your conclusion IS THE ONLY ONE THAT CAN BE!!!!!  Be diverse in your own opinions, while adhering strongly to what you believe, and when you share it with others, don't be pushy, or reckless with its content! Be informative in a "non-posty-uppie-a-billion's-statisticsy" kind of way!

OKEY-DOKEY, PHINOCCHIOKEY!...thats all I have to say...believe it or not! LOL!
