NO!...Marijuana shouldn't be legalized, cause it not only impairs judgment, but DRIVING as well...We have enough drunk drivers and people texting/talking on cell phones while driving. We don't need more dangerous people on the roads to kill us. Can you imagine the consequences!?...There would be urban jungles of weed plants growing out of backyards and people walking around like zombies and crashing into things all day long...The convenience stores would make a killing though from all the Pot-Heads buying Cheetos and chips because of weed induced munches. So NO! Are society is already going to hell, we don't need more degeneration.

Ok... So I have horrible nerve damage in my right arm and it is very debilitating, ingesting Marijuana helps with the pain like you would never believe. on top of that the country would not have spots of "Urban Jungles of Weed." Now LETS LOOK AT THIS AS A WHOLE.  We spend more money on imprisoning, searching, processing, and bad PR on the Prohibition of Marijuana then any other "Street Drug."  The revenue each state could make off the selling of and not everything I just mentiond could help lower the deffacite and rais revonue.  Furthermore they say it would be like the sales of alcohol,  witch is a much worse drug then weed, more people; die, get hurt, hurt others, do stupid things wile under the influance of alcohole then marijuana.  I do not believe the lies that "This whole country would be a stoned mess." many other countries have legalization of some sort if not fully and they operate FINE.  Like ciggerates and alcohol, if you have no desire or don't like it you wont do it!!!!!  For the sick, profit, the resorses(as there are a ton from this plant) and common scene it should be legal.  Oh and for the "God loving and fearing" as it says in Genesis Ch.1 ver.29" And God said, Behold I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree in, which is fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat."

If you read my reply to someone on the 3rd page. I said that I'm in support of MEDICAL marijuana use...My concern is if they make it legal to everyone, it may have bad consequences. I believe Medical Marijuana is in fact legal in some states, right? So you're all good, (sorry to hear about your condition).

Judgement? More like realistic!

1000's of farms and sure this will give all of the drug dealers jobs!  ::)

Marijuana is a schedule I drug which are defined as drugs with a high potential for abuse...funny it is labled in there with Herion, Mescaline "Peyote", and LSD.

Smoked or eaten marijuana can disrupt balance, physical coordination and visual perception. Yeah this is something we need out in the public. ::)

Anyone in their right mine that doesn't smoke, knows what this drug does would not want this in public around their family and kids.

Don't believe everything you read and get out of your cave more. There are benefits of marijuana for some medical conditions, they also have a synthic drug that does the same!
But like all drugs there are side-effects.

It seems like I sir, or ma'am, am the one who is out of my cave and being open minded about things while researching and looking into them.

Every side effect that you posted about Cannabis being bad, is also a much more prominent effect of alcohol. Are you planning on outlawing that as well?

As for drug dealers getting jobs. Is it legal for someone to go and make their own booze and sell it on the corner? No. They haven't passed the standards for such, and don't have a business license and thus could be arrested. The same could go for said "drug dealers."

+ think about it. If someone is going to the trouble of getting such a plant legalized, wouldn't they go through the proper channels and walk down to their smoke shop or convenience store to keep it legal since they fought so hard to make it that way?

And there is an ever growing following for "natural" lifestyles, and a lot of people are all in favor of these ways of life. I for one would much rather prefer a natural remedy than a synthetic drug made form who knows what that's going to give me lymph node cancer or some random deadly disease 20 years down the line.

So in your perfect world we will:
1) Outlaw Alcohol
2) Arrest anyone who even consumes alcohol because "we don't want that around our families and children"
3) Keep a plant on the Schedule 1 level with the actual harmful drugs that was placed their own of desperate acts to outlaw it.
3) Poke fun at anyone walking around disoriented in the streets(i heard being jumped has the same effect, lets make fun of those people too)

:)

These all just seem a bit extensive for my liking, and seems that we are being controlled by the Federal Government a little more than we should. In case you haven't taken American History in a while, we Revolutionized to get away from such controlling factors.

that gateway theory is very weak and transparent. EVERYTHING IS A GATEWAY! you drink soda, then move up to coffee, then 5 hour energy. don't single out marijuana. Also marijuana is the safest "mind-alterng" substance. and as posted befor, it all depends on the strain. There are thousands of different kinds of marijuana. each is different. marijuana has caused, are you ready?, ZERO deaths SINCE IT'S DISCOVERY! let's look at alcohol and tobacco. Oh look, thosands are dying RIGHT NOW AS I TYPE from them. and weed is illegal.

I'm glad there are some other people in here, that see past the walls of common moality and actually do research and look at the facts, instead of just accepting what they hear. These posts have proved that weed is not a bad thing. And that the plant has several uses other than smoking and getting "high" as you put it. But you all completely overlook reason and fact because "your goverment" says it's wrong. not everything is wrong to benefit us or to keep us safe. but you guys are afraid to believe that because you were told not to. (end rant) I'm not speaking of everyone, just a few. Just open your eyes!

That it does my friend!! That it does. More people are just aware of what the media or their parents have taught them rather than doing the research and study for themselves, small minded thinkers. Pick up any book on marijuana and actually read the effects it has on people and I know allot on here will be say WOW hmmm I want to learn more. You do not have to be a smoker or user of the plant to educate yourself on this matter.

Yep your right, but remember Reefer Madness,, that's probably what most of these people have watched and have based their assumption on... haha funny movie might I add.

I've never smoked pot, but I think it should be legalized.

I've never smoked anything and I could probably get medical marijuana but it scares me, I don't want to lose control which is also why I do not drink much. However, to each her own.

It is not any wonder drug. It does not cure cancer!

And it is worst then alcohol as it effects innocent bystanders, anyone around someone smoking might as well be smoking too. And this is something that should not be in public. Anyone that thinks so does not care about the welfare of their family or others...plain and simple.

Medical use is fine if done with others out of harms way.

I completely understand what your saying, but the same goes with smoking cigarettes. and cigs are legal.
But I don't agree that its worse than alcohol. Does alcohol NOT affect innocent bystanders? I mean, how many people have died from being hit by a drunk driver?

Truth is many have been charged with DUI's from smoking marijauna, many have even killed others while driving impaired from marijuana.

You can stand next to someone drinking shot after shot of wild turkey and not get any of the effects, the same can not be said about smoking marijuana.

So truth is marijuana is worst then alcohol!
Alcohol is bad but in now way should be compare to marijuana in the same way.

well, the difference is, alcohol is LEGAL and It does kill innocent bystanders ALL the time, it also affects people in many ways, like anger, for one. that drunk A**hole takes it out on his/her family, beats his/her children, or drives drunk and kills a whole family.
and your right, sitting next to an alcoholic or someone drinking you wont get the same effects, but it can have an affect on that person sitting next to them. they may start running there mouth to you, start a fight, throw up on you lol... Alcohol takes away your perception, you may not even remember what you did, like punching up on your kids, breaking one of there arms, shoving your pregnant sister into a table and almost making her lose her baby, raping someone, murdering them.... I'm sorry, but the alcohol defense hits a nerve with me. Don't take it personally. I just don't agree.
