based on my observation, women need bags to carry all the materias they need throughout the day. men - a small folding piece of fabric in his pocket.

Have you looked in most mens workshop/storage building/ garage? Just because we dont feel the need to pack it all around with us every where we go, most of us still have a tremendous excess of "stuff".

I am one of the least materialistic women you could ever meet. As far as the 'purse' comment? I'll put what I carry in my purse that IS needed up against what you carry in the back of your truck or car anyday!

I'm a female who is very, very careful about buying anything unless my husband and I really need it. However, my purse is crammed with my asthma medicines, cell phone, house/car keys, a stick of eyeliner, coupons to save money at the store, and a child's bib I'm embroidering when I'm away from home and have nothing else to do. If this is "proof" that I'm a ghastly materialistic woman, so be it. The phone, by the way, is for my father to reach me if he needs me to come home right away. He has Stage 4 cancer, and I'm one of his caregivers.

All women are not materialistic.  I have met more men that were more materialistic than women.  I must admit, I use to be materialistic, until I moved in an area where millionaires lived and my son went to school with their children.  When taking my son to school, I noticed that these children were not wearing name brands and that their parents knew what was important, not clothing, but the best education!

That's a big generalization. I'd argue that "some" women are, and so are "some" men. In MY experience, the stuff men want is just bigger and more expensive.

You guys are right although, with the clothes- i wear mostly polo ralph lauren and one of my outfits (jeans not polo) is aroud 25$ for a shirt 35$ for shoes, 20-40$ jeans. My girlfriend on te other hand 30-40$ for a shirt that is thinner than my socks, i think peoplemake women's clothes cost more because of the same genaralization i just did.

lol my "purse"is just big enough for my id phone and keys lol and that is only when my man not with me usually he puts the stuff in his pocket I hate carrying anything lol

funny, my girlfriend carries her (enormous as i call it) EVERYWHERE, and when she dosen't, i end up with pocket-fulls of her stuff because the pockets on [most] womens clothes are only me big enough to hold a spare button (slight exaggeration). lol. her wallet is 3 times the size of mine. and only half as full  (kidding)
