who like Niagara Falls?

I used to live in Buffalo, NY so Niagara Falls was very close by. It is very gorgeous there. I actually like seeing it in the winter more than the summer... You have large icicles that form on the edge of the falls that just perfectly frame it. But winter in Buffalo is not really fun to drive in, esp. if there is a big snow storm (can you say lake-effect snow!) There are also many other attractions around the area... Niagara (the actual city) has a botanical gardens which is beautiful in the spring / summer, there is a marina and a zoo in Buffalo, and Casino Niagara in Canada. Buffalo also has several sports teams: the Buffalo Bills (football) and the Sabers (hockey), and minor-league baseball team (the Bison). University of Buffalo also has there own sports teams, and they also host plays, musicals, and other performance arts to watch. And don't forget the food! Buffalo Wings originated at the Anchor Bar in Buffalo. And beef-on-weck is another dish known in the area.

Around the beginning of July it seems like there is a huge party atmosphere in the area... Canada Day (that country's "birthday") is July 1st and the US has Independence Day on the 4th. There is usually a bunch of vendors, food booths, etc. around the area celebrating the 2 national holidays. And of course fireworks in the evening.

And if you still can't find enough to do in the area, there is Toronto (Canada's largest city) only a couple of hours north, which has many of the big-city attractions like Medieval Times theme-restaurant, the Canadian National Exhibition, orchestras, etc.

When my husband and I took a "second" honeymoon a few years ago (actually it was our first because we didn't have a honeymoon when we got married in 1963), we went to Niagara Falls.  I had always wanted to go.  We took the Maid of the Mist ride, and we LOVED it.  I want to go back to see it at night.  We didn't get to see that when we were there.  Did you know there was a movie called Niagara which starred Marilyn Monroe? 

yes i watched that movie was wonderfull.
Niagara (1953) is a dramatic thriller, film noir directed by Henry Hathaway. Unlike other films noir of the time, Niagara  was shot in Technicolor and was one of 20th Century Fox's biggest box office hits of the year.The drama features Marilyn Monroe, Joseph Cotten, Jean Peters and others.

YAY! a place that i know ALL too well! i have been to Niagra Falls MANY MANY times! its great any season you go! and its great doing to the tours in the tunnels under the falls both winter and summer! very nice place

i nly know about niagra falls in the book, friends and movies, maybe that'll be one of my iteneraries for my next 2 yrs....lol

Thank god i had the pleasure of going to Nigara falls in the winter time it is truly one of nature wonders, i wish everyone could see close up how wonderful it is. I still would love to vist there all four seasons of the year before i pass on.

 As all know Niagara Falls are both a daytime and evening attraction. From the Canadian side, floodlights illuminate both sides of the Falls for several hours after dark (until midnight). The number of visitors in 2008 is expected to total 20 million and by 2009, the annual rate is expected to top 28 million tourists a year. The oldest and best known tourist attraction at Niagara Falls is the Maid of the Mist boat cruise, named for an ancient Ongiara Indian mythical character, which has carried passengers into the rapids immediately below the Falls since 1846. Cruise boats operate from boat docks on both sides of the falls.
The enormous energy of Niagara Falls has long been recognized as a potential source of power.

I love Niagara Falls we went there on our honeymoon and had agreat time and would love to go back. We went on the Maid of Mist, and all the tourist attractions that we could do in a week so it was great .
