Some people find the right guy on the internet.. but I really think it's a bad idea to go looking for one on the internet.
Also, long distance relationships are crappy. Unless you already care about the person and then they move don't bother with a long distance relationship.

lol ok.... i have a long distant relationship wt my bf...its working out great,i think as long as you are able to communicate and keep a conversation interesting it'll be fine,plus we have that love and dedication with each other,so we do just fine

when i first started online dating my mom was very nervous about it -- i told her i could easily meet jerks at the local bar as well -- I am not a bar or club kinda person -- so the internet was alright by me.  No matter how you meet people you need to be cautious and protect yourself.

I've met people from the internet before. I think it's fine as long as you use common sense. Before I meet someone from the internet, I like to webcam with them first and friend their facebook profile to make sure they're not lying about who they are.

I agree and disagree with the OP, I have met a few girls online that were actually quite nice girls, and a few that I was so disgusted about meeting I would just have to leave where we met.

I also met my love on myspace. we've only been together for 2 years
but I wouldn't want to be without him.

i would be afraid to meet someone in person that i had met on the internet, i mean you can have online friend that you talk to, but you really cannt trust people anymore

I would never look for a guy on the Internet. I would be worried about lying or pretending to be someone he's not.

Sometimes you can't really trust people you meet in person, honestly it seems like no matter where you meet people you run the risk of finding out something is wrong.

If you meet a guy at a store he seems nice and he sweeps you off your feet. You go on dates and you become serious, but when you ask to meet his parents he hesitates and gives excuses like " they are very judgmental and we are not close" " I will when the time is right "  " Sure maybe later on okay" Months pass and you notice a few other things and it turns out your dating a married man.
 I have had a friend have that happen boy was she upset haha. I told her why don't you know where he works? why does he have two cell phones? Why does he have a ring mark on his finger? Why don't you know where he lives? But she made excuses for everything.

So honestly, in life you never truly know a person not even family members. So many people out there are two faced and hide who they are until death.
It's a very very tricky world out there and everyone needs to use a little extra common sense. I'm not talking about acting like a freak thinking everyone is out there trying to get you.
I'm simply saying if something doesn't sound right, it more then likely isn't right...

Also take this into consideration, meeting people online is very inpersonal, sometimes people exagerate or flurish on things about themselves or have extra confidence
because sitting behind a screen is so much easier then speaking one on one.
You can BS easier when sitting on a screen some people on here right Bios on their social networking sites that make me want to buy their first novel.

I mean have you read some of these very extensive ABOUT ME's out there....I swear I'm reading a published biography. 

Good luck to those of you who intend on meeting someone online and for those who  met the right person online I applaud you for being lucky.

I have met 10 men off the internet. And I ask whats the difference between online and in some random place in this world. Really they are both strangers and even thou they cant lie about age race or other features you dont really know what is going on in their minds either way. I have been with one of the men since Dec of 2006

i met 3 guys off the internet. i didnt have ne problems ..one i didnt want to date but thought he was cute. we met up and he's decent but not someone i would want to be around everyday. he's lonely though, i cant help but to feel sorry for him. i met this other dude a couple miles from me .. he was decent looking, but he wasnt the greatest looking guy. i went one 1 date with him and he didnt call me back.. then months went by and he called me again. i seen him again but not as a date. i went to his house... BORING! and after that months went by again and then he contacted me again. he said he didnt have a reason not to make contact earlier. i talked to him again after he had been visitig his friend which lived right next to me and he called me fat and said some other stuff that wasnt nice so i deleted him and didnt talk to him again. this other guy was the cutest one i met, his name was nick. i wasnt to date him, but i didnt push it. we kissed, same as the other dude i met. but i only seen him like once after that. the first guy still contacts me every once in a while, but i dont really like him ne more. i try to be nice to him still coz i know by being a friend i am helping him in some sort of way. he's suicidal and depressed, his wife left him,& etc. his best friend vanished too.. poor guy.
