I walked into work at a chiropractic office and saw it on the TV in the lobby.

I was working.  It was my senior year of high school and that happened to be a day I did work study.  Me and my boyfriend worked at the same place of employment, we both started at 6am MST so we had absolutely no idea what was going on until people started coming in later.  We went into the break room right before the first tower fell.

I was at work in Charlottesville, VA.  Our company had a large-screen TV in the conference room.  As I passed by, I saw the smoke from the first building.  I thought it was probably a small plane that sometimes hits skyscrapers.  Then I noticed more and more people filing to the conference room.  We all sat there in stunned silence.

Class, I was in the sixth grade at the time.  When the teacher heard the news she made us all stand and pray (i went to private school), none of us knew what it was about yet.

i was in my post-graduate internship at a health department in Denver. we are all called into the meeting/conference room and watched the news on the TV.  They were concerned about possible attacks at NORAD in colorado springs area-- everyone was a bit on edge and I think there is also a WTC in Denver-- no one was sure if they should send us home or lock us into a "safe area"  ---

I was at work.  I hadn't heard anything until I went to my first meeting, and someone came in late saying the second tower collapsed.  I had to ask what tower - and he told me and another co-worker what had been happening all morning.  I couldn't believe our account manager didn't say anything to people.

My best friend worked in Manhattan, but I couldn't recall if her company was in the World Trade Center or not.  I finally got a hold of her - she was fine.  She worked in an office building across the Hudson - she saw the whole thing first hand, and told me how everyone had to walk home that day due to the whole city being shut down.

Will never forget that day.
