To a Hero
« on: September 10, 2010, 03:51:03 pm »
I remember you when you were small, I remember playing hide and seek

I remember you would hang on to every word that I would speak

I remember us playing in the sprinklers running around the yard

I remember us laughing and getting excited when holidays would come around

I remember all the hugs, I remember all there was

I remember us being small

I remember the world as it was

I remember you leaving us

I remember you coming back a different person

I guess that is what the military does

You are a hero to so many, so many thank you for serving the country

I still see my little brother though, not much has changed

You have so much respect

And I am so proud of you

Ironic considering I just read a post by you on another thread that said these people are just doing their job.

They are

So all the others are just doing their job, but your brother on the other hand is a hero? Oh the contradictory things you post make me laugh out loud.

I agree they are all heros, I brought this up because on another thread she claimed those who risked and in some cases lost their lives on 9/11 were "just doing their job" and that many of them join so they wont get drafted

They also join because it pays well and they get great benefits and hey the military is always hiring  ;D

you also claimed on the other post that it wasn't because they want to help others, that is was so they wouldn't get drafted and for the pay and benefits...dont dirty their names then post that they're heroes. It's disrespectful and you have a lot to learn. They have risked their lives for your freedom, freedom you don't even value as you are supporting censorship on another thread at this same moment.

Not sure why I am even responding to you yet again, I guess I just have a strong love for my country and don't appreciate when Americans don't give our soldiers the respect they deserve.  But your comments are very confusing to me you said on another thread

"People go to the military because if they didn't they would be drafted...or you would sit in jail...how messed up is that?

I don't care if people are over there dying for "me" they do that cause they're stupid. I never asked for life...don't hang that crap over my head!

I knew that...but they are stupid...if no one joined the military there would be a draft though.  Plus being in the military has excellent benefits, trust me I know..My dad is a veteren and the VA pays for all his meds and so much more. My brother is in Japan right and he is in the Navy."

I wont argue pointless discussions with you any more but I will stand up for our military when I see people showing them disrespect by calling them stupid and not giving them the credit they deserve.  They are all hero's maybe not to you but to America they are hero's including your brother.  I myself am very thankful that they do the job they do regardless of the reasons they might do it.  Also you stated in the other thread that everyone you know doesn't care about strangers? Obviously that's not the case as your brother himself is risking his life for millions of strangers as did your father as you said he was a vet.  I am proud of all of our military our country wouldn't be what it is today without them.  Marie I don't dislike you or have any hard feelings towards you because we disagree on so many points. That's our rights as Americans to believe in what we want.  And despite the way you sometimes word things and even blatantly attack others religions or beliefs I still have respect for you as an individual regardless of what you believe in.   I just think maybe you should think out the things you say before you type them as they can be confused and appear in ways that you perhaps didn't mean them.
