I never understood why someone would have children
Because it's just "the thing to do". People aren't that creative when it comes to filling their lives with "purpose"...kids are an easy fix for that. Wait, scratch the word "easy".
Also it's like, expected in society. I saw screw that cookie-cutter obligation and do what makes YOU happy!
Do you just have babies and hope for the best?
Yep, I think that's exactly what most people do. Kinda foolish if you ask me...
What about the boy you just had, they go to the military and get blown to pieces so someone elses kids can live their obese life.
We've all got to die sometime...and we NEED the military. It's an honorable job to take on!
I will never have kids...
Probably me neither...the cons far outweigh the pros...plus it's environmentally irresponsible. Limit yourself to 2 and then adopt if you want more, people!!
a kid can't even enjoy their meal without parents saying there are starving children out there...who cares!! This is a cold world and it is survival of the fittest.
Well I'm sure you'd care if you were the starving one. But you're right that it's a cold world...so much of the land is infertile and
less than 1% of all water is suitable for drinking (despite the planet being 70+% water!). It's a big reason why people are starving.
wish sometimes I was never born...I mean what twisted person looks forward to the pain of dying anyways?
Yeah but, as Richard Dawkins says: "We
are going to die...
but that makes us the lucky ones. Most people are never going to die because THEY'RE NEVER GOING TO BE BORN. The potential people that could have been here in my place, but who will, in fact, never see the light of day, outnumber the sand grains of Sahara. Certainly those unborn ghosts include greater poets than Keats, scientists greater than Newton. We know this because the set of possible people who are allowed by our DNA so massively outnumber the set of
actual people. Amidst these *stupifying* odds, it is
you and I in our ordinary-ness that are here. We, privileged few, who won the LOTTERY of birth against all odds...how DARE we whine about our inevitable return to that prior state from which the
vast majority have never stirred." <---
it!!!
