God did not create the universe, says Hawking

Note to jordandog: I know on Yahoo they were trying to phrase it like "Hawking changed his views on God".  Uh, no he didn't.  He's been an atheist for years...

Yes, I noticed that and it's not the first time it's been implied, as I'm sure you know. I think I have gotten to the point where I just 'gloss over' statements to that effect when I see them.

Hawking is brilliant, but that doesn't mean he's right about everything.  Even Oprah is wrong sometimes.

Which just goes to prove, that no matter what evidence is put in front of atheists, there are some who demand that God show up physically and prove who he is. So they basically refuse to believe, in spite of evidence.

Isn't a great part of the bible full of stories about people seeking a sign? Just something to think about.

I was posting in solidarity to Sherene's posting above:

But he answered and said unto them, An evil and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and there shall no sign be given to it, but the sign of the Prophet Jonas (Jonah):  For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the Whale's belly, so shall the son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.  Matthew 12: 39-40

In other words, when Jesus arose, after being dead, that was the sign. You either believe it or not.
