If you haven't done it yet, sign up for the National Do Not Call Registry.  Your number is on the list for only five years, then you have to re-up.  I don't know the rules for the whole posting other websites, but it's

do not call dot gov  ;)

My number's on that list and I still get calls. At least I finally have a phone with a reject list on it.

My number is on the "Do not call" list but in fact I got two calls yesterday. It gets me angry but I just hang up on them.

I am not sure, but I think the law was changed so that the Do Not Call list is permanent- you don't have to sign up again every five years.  (I'm going to check it out for myself. We signed up more than five years ago.  We still get calls, but I think they are ones where they get information from the internet or where I order online.  That way they can say they have a business relationship.  My favorite thing to do to telemarketers is to simply put the phone down and let them talk to themselves.  Years ago, I tried to be nice and explain I didn't want their product.  However, I think they are trained to talk so fast you don't have a chance to answer.  Since their pay is tied into how many people they contact, they end up talking to themselves, and that REALLY irritates them.  Then I hang up when I hear the tone to hang up.

If you are on the do not call list and do the offers from FC you give them permission to call. If you tell them to put you on their do not call list when they call by law they are to give you the do not call spill and hang up the phone.

I've been on the Do Not Call list for years and have had ZERO calls.  before there was such a thing, I would mess with the telemarketers:  they ask for me, I say, oh, goodness, I'm sorry, she died two days ago.  we are very busy, trying to finish her arrangements.  Would you like to make a donation to (pick a charity) in her memory?

hehehe...almost guaranteed to get an instant hang up or a totally freaked out reaction.  good times.

I am on the NDNCR but get calls because of offers I complete, etc. However, You Mail (do a Google search) takes care of them in a hurry.

Thanks for the info.  I will have to do that now because I hate getting calls from them all the time.
