I have smoked weed and I hate it, I don't understand how people like that crap. It makes me feel weird and I laugh over the stupidest stuff...I couldn't wait for the effect to wear off.

It depends on how much you smoked and if it was laced with some thing else. Me personnally when I start having real bad asthma problems I have to go get something. It helps me breathe so much easier. I can only take so much chest tightning and breating problems from the asthma. I refuse to use an inhaler.
before it was illegal they gave it to athsma patients. it has so many uses

I do have a negative story about weed...so, if you don't want to know, cease your reading, lol.

It was earlier this year.  I was friends with someone I no longer am friends with because of this very incident.  She spent much of her time stoned, as she said it was the best way for her to get through stress and etc...whatev.  She seemed pretty trustworthy, and we don't exactly live in the best part of town, so when my husband and I would take our daughter out of town for any reason, we would ask her to stay at our place, so that no one would really know we weren't home.  Big mistake.  Her boyfriend sold weed, and when we were out of town, he would sell out of our house.  Needless to say, I didn't know this until it was too late.  One night, my daughter was staying overnight with my parents as I was working late.  When I was finished working for the day, I went home, got on the laptop (was actually on FC) and fell asleep.  My husband was working until midnight, and I had to pick him up since I had the car that night.  I woke up to a familiar knock on my door at twenty to midnight, and didn't think anything about it until I answered.  I thought it was my "friend" since she always used the same knock, the one that woke me.  It wasn't her.  Instead, a man I had never seen before in my life pushed his way into my house, demanded that he could get weed at my house because he had gotten it here before, and where was the other girl and her boyfriend...I was horrified.  I was terrified.  I informed him that there was no weed to be found at my place, then he proceeded to make me drive him around town after stealing my phone in search of marijuana.  He had me terrified, telling me how he was going to kill himself, giving me details, and asking me if I was a "good girl" and if I would ever cheat on my husband.  I was an hour late picking my husband up from work.  We called the police, I got my phone back (but had to change my number), and as far as we know he is still in jail.  I haven't talked to my "friend" since.  She tried to contact me after, but she was more concerned with my associating her with the deadbeat that kidnapped me instead of if I was okay and my daughter was ok.

I used to believe marijuana was ok, until this incident.  I have smoked before, but I never will touch a joint again.  There is just too much to lose...too great a risk.

I am sorry to hear yo went thru this. I think I would have tried to prosecute this "friend" and her boyfriend for doing this out of your house. That is purely disrespectful to your friendship in my opinion.

I agree.  The only thing I could do,though, was notify the police and if she knocks on my door, I can have her escorted off the property, but since she had permission to stay in my home, and no one wants to speak out against their dealer, there wasn't much else could be done.  That is good enough for me, anyway.  I just want her to stay away from me.  She obviously cared nothing for me, otherwise her first concern would be to ask if my daughter and I were ok...I am just grateful my daughter wasn't home when this happened.  I shudder at the thought...

well if you think about it, all those problems came from the people, not the weed itself...

This is true...I had never met him before the incident happened.  There are so many things the police got wrong, though.  They got the guy for robbery and not kidnapping...the police know the situation...not much I can do except move, and I refuse to be scared away from my home.

The same can be said about everything else in society, though.  Not the guns, not the alcohol, not the cigarettes...people do need to take responsibility for their actions.  All I know is that it was the want of weed that caused the situation, therefore, weed is not something I want part of.

I think you should take your FC money and invest in one of these--

Understand I really really hate to water down your argument against it so, with all due respect-- If it was legalized, would this have happened? I mean I know a lot of stoners and casual users --many to which outgrow it and don't use it anymore-- and I've never heard of something like this happening. This seems like your appealing to emotion in a rare instance.

If you love where you live there is no reason you should move. I made it a policy if it is dark outside I do not answer the door unless you call first even if I think I know the knock.

not exactly. most normal people don't force people to do things to get what they want. weed is not addictive and therefore had no impact on his rationality

Its an emotional instance.  I couldn't know either way if it would have happened if weed was legal.  I know how I acted while under the influence...I was not in full control of my behavior.  Its different than alcohol or cigarettes.  With weed, I didn't realize I was gone until I was gone.  I'm sure with everyone it is different.  There is also Serenity, and I know some people who use it, but its just not something I find myself interested in anymore now that I'm older.  I can see, though, how people with addictive personalities can become addicted to the feeling they get while stoned.  I do believe, though, that if it were legalized, the novelty would wear off, and not nearly as many people would use.

You're right; he wasn't normal people, and obviously not rational.  However, it was his want of weed that caused the situation.  I stand by my statement.

Very true. You seem to have an informed opinion on it which is great.

Ah, really, Falconer, would you expect me to be ill-informed?   ;)
