Here let me get deep and personal K..I have a alcoholic mother and a pot head father so lucky me LMAO..Any ways My mom was abusive ,she was two different people, she was not a parent I was a parent to her..And my dad was laid back and chill BUT was a parent his use of Pot only made him silly to me as a kid it chilled him out he was up-tight when not high..Now my mom went into a drunkin stupor and well lets say my dad left the state in fear of my wacked out mom..Now I am sorry but I would rather have a world of lazy potheads then screwed up alcoholics my mom still is a alcoholic and is still batty as all hell and health wise well she is not good..So hmm we legalize alcohol that causes more damage and harm but not pot..Seems dumb to me

Totally agree with you here.  I too would much rather have to deal with potheads than drunks.  Of course it depends on the person and how pot effects them as with any drug, but I have seen far worse things done by alcoholics than potheads.  My father was an alcoholic, and I can tell you I would much rather get in a car with a pothead than an alcoholic.  Ive been in a car as a child heading up the entrance to the highway going the wrong way and its a scary feeling knowing the person your supposed to trust your father is so out of his mind drunk he isn't even thinking of his kids safety.  Luckily a police officer stopped him before it became tragic.  After this my mom divorced him and he literally drank himself to death.  He was in the hospital on his deathbed and the doctor told him if you drink one more drink you will probably die.  The doctor was right.... He had his brother sneak him in a beer that night and he died that night due to liver disease.  My point being people die due to alcohol all the time whether it be to liver problems or horrible car accidents because someone was stupid enough to drink and drive.  I know several people that smoke pot and although I  don't condone it I believe its far more safe than alcohol.  My hubby smokes regularly as well as his mother who smokes to relieve pain from Fibromyalgia, as for my hubby its a calming thing he's a grouch when he don't have pot.  Does he overdo it to the point he cant function? never I have never seen anyone be able to do that not saying it cant happen just that I haven't seen it before.  I have never even tried it so I cant speak from personal experience.  I just know that when he can smoke hes much more calm and relaxed...not stupid out of his mind kinda high.  He says it helps him focus better and get stuff done, which must be true because its much easier to get him to do stuff I need done when he's smoked.

I think it should be legalized, and I agree with what 502mania said about the recession.  I just think we have far more bigger concerns in our country than potheads.  And people that don't understand the substance think it causes everyone to  be lazy and on welfare.  This is not true actually the only people I know that smoke besides my mother in law who is on disability all have decent jobs.

exactly, alyvia. but it's not a drug, and "potheds" aren't the PLANTS only use. it would bring upon a variety of goods including BIODEGRADABLE PLASTIC. do you know what that would do? it would save trees for lumber, paper and other materials, create a very extensive list of herbal remedies and may even be the cure to cancer, it can be made into fuel - we would be no longer dependant on foreign fossil fuels, take the place of dangerous tobacco on the smoking market - saving lives, With this huge industry millions of jobs would be created.

not exactly. most normal people don't force people to do things to get what they want. weed is not addictive and therefore had no impact on his rationality

You're right; he wasn't normal people, and obviously not rational.  However, it was his want of weed that caused the situation.  I stand by my statement.
yea.. but this guy probably would have acted no different over the want of cupcakes, does that make cupcakes wrong or the person wantng them..?

Regardless of personal opinion about whether it should be legalized... Cupcakes are not illegal.  That had some bearing on this guy's behavior.  Had he been able to run up to the local Speedway and buy a joint, he wouldn't have knocked on my door.

...besides, I'm pretty sure he probably wanted cupcakes, too...or something similar... ;)

i agree it should be leagal, if we going to allow cigs, or alchol, or prescription drugs then why not that.  i mean there are some priscriptions that is actually worse then the cocain or heroin or crack or meth. but also cigs are actually legal and considered to be more addictive and killing mor then any other drug. but is closly running up is alchol

Well, my feeling is...is...wait, what was the post about again?  Oh, that's right, marijuana.  I think it should be legalized so everyone can look at commercials during TV shows and say to themselves "Wow, those are actors in that commercial!--awesome dude, totally!"

As a matter of fact, I think the lobbyists in DC ought to start pushing for it.  Some of the largest food and beverage companies, i.e. Coke, Pepsi, Kraft etc, should realize the upside and lobby our politicians.  After all, think about sodas for example: if pot were legal, more people would quit drinking as much beer for artificial stimulation and soda sales would increase (are you hearing me Coke and Pepsi?).  And I don't even have to mention the food, especially snack foods.  Anybody got the munchies?

I'm not sure about the whole "smoking and driving" thing though?  Maybe the cops could set up check points to check for bloodshot eyes?  Or just a simple IQ test should do the trick! :)

Marijuana is a substance that alters your sense of reality and distorts your perceptions.  This is not good for anyone commonsencially.  Also, God did not make us so we could take ourselves out of reality.  That is why I think marijauna is bad for people.

So does alcohol. And alcohols side-effects are horrendously worse than marijuanas.

Medicinal? Recreational?

If we're taking the crazy route, you gotta remember that your god made it.

You need to do a lot more research.

So your pitch is....get everyone high and fat and this is somehow good for the country?   Hmmmm, I think with more people eating junk food and soda, there might be (if it's possible) more problems with healthcare in this country. Hell, instead of dealing pot people will set up an underground gastric bypass cartel!!!

I'm sorry but this is one of the most ridiculous posts for pro legalization that I have heard.  ::)

YES, a GREAT BIG YES, marijuana should be legal for adults. Adults should be allowed to do whatever they want to do as long as they don't hurt other people, OR infringe on other peoples rights. That is what is known as FREEDOM and LIBERTY.ANYBODY ever heard of those?????
