Website for beautiful people?
« on: August 27, 2010, 03:26:33 pm »
So I was watching the news one day and found about a website like myspace except you have to upload a picture and people vote whether you're pretty or not to be apart of it. SO I submitted a picture and I was approved, but I saw a lot of people weren't. I think this site is really mean. What do you think?

It seems kind of empty and sad to me.  Being attractive doesn't make a person interesting or fun at all.

Wow I cant believe there's actually a site out there that votes on people based on looks, well I guess it should be easy to believe, but thats messed up I mean isent the world already consumed by vanity and greed I'm just saying people shouldn't promote this kind of thinking anymore just my opinion. ::) :peace:

Yes it is sad. I think that is part of america or any other country that spends millions of dollars in plastic surgery. Beauty has ruined some people.

theres people on mate1 that are trying to get dates but it's like they email me all the time. i think they are ugly and fugly but i dont say nething i just block them or simply tell them they are not my type. i was trying to help this geeky guy get a date but he didnt except my help. instead he told me i was a piece of work. well, i really dont care. i'm trying to help u get a date and thats what u say? i could have really helped u. even though i found him ugly. it doesnt mean everyone else or someone does too. there are people out there for people.. even ugly and fugly people. i never dated a fugly person but some people thought i was with ugly people. sure sure..they werent the best looking in the world, but its hard to find the best looking person in the world.. i mean come on. i have my ideal guy but dang i have never had a bf nearly as hot as he is. close but no cigar. i like pretty boys but sometimes the pretty boys dont like me. i think i am pretty but not like drop dead gorgeous. i do attract alot of unwanted attention though, just by walking in the room sometimes. eww-- get away from me pervert!!! sometimes i like the attention but most of the time i dont unless its from someone i already like.

...wow.

anyway, yes. these types of sites (and everyone
participating) wade in the very shallow end of the
internet pool.

yes, please like me based on my looks! i desperately
need the acceptance so that i can measure my self-
worth by everyone else's superficial standards. please,
please, please!

god help us  :sad1:

I don't want to be a hypocrite. I will admit that it feels really good when somebody says they think I'm pretty, but since I'm not super model material it's a good thing I have a personality and brains to back me up and I hope people would make an effort to judge me based on who I am and not what I look like.

It's sad the superficial society we live in that places so much stock in appearances. I do think people should take pride in their appearance, dress nice, bathe regularly, brush their teeth, eat healthy, but it's sad when that's where people stop and make a judgment about a person.

:cat:  That's a real shame a site would do that.

Yes I have been guilty of dating guys that are cute or sexy. Even some male models. But after my last ex, I've learned that looks are not everything. Even as far as myself. Being pretty didn't stop my heart from being broken, or losing a loved one. So to people who do think looks are everything, I hope that they mature and wise up.

These sites are not forcing you to post pics of yourself so if you put a pic up you should be able to take what is dished out
