I've never been a smoker, but my roommate quit smoking cold turkey once and got really sick - like all blocked up and stuffy. Started smoking again and the cold went right away. I was like that sucks, but you gotta get over the hurdle! I think she still smokes occasionally, but def not regularly.

I'm wanting to stop smoking again myself. It's just so hard. Thanks for posting the info...I'll use it for trying cold turkey.

caffeine will help curb the cravings for nicotine.  Understand, nicotine is a poison in your body. (it mimics the neurotransmitter Acetylcholine) on "nicotinic" receptors.  Until its gone (takes some time) you'll keep craving it.  Its presence made it easier for those nerves to fire impulses.  You gotta wait it out.  Be strong.  Others have succeeded, its not impossible.


...and just think of all the money you'll have afterwards!

hmmm that is intresting but still i think its good to smoke for people who get stessed out alot. and people who eat alot. not to smoke everyday but only when thy really need it.  :dontknow:

It's been almost 3 years since I quit smoking. Best thing I ever did for myself. The "side effects" are way better than the long-term effects of smoking. Just wish I would have done it sooner.

no way.  nicotine is one of the MOST addictive substances on the planet.  Thats like endorsing someone to do cocaine for weight loss.


and also if you quit.. you'll notice people standing by you more.  its because you don't smell like a foot....lol
