Blood work!

I get my lab results back today. Hopefully they can find out what's wrong with me!  When I was little, I always had headaches and dizzy spells. They thought I had diabetes, so they tested my blood all the time. It made me horrified of needles, blood work, etc., so when I found out I had to get blood drawn, I was nauseated. I didn't want to go, but I do want to know what's wrong with me. I went to the clinic at the military base. The lady there informed me that she is NOT a nurse, and that it was going to be over quickly. I know it seems silly for me to have this fear after all this time, but I hadn't got blood drawn (from my arm) since I was little. Anyhow, that lady is amazing at what she does! It was a tiny poke, and she kept me talking so that I didn't feel faint. She gets an A++++! Has anyone else had a fear like this?

I used to hate getting my blood work done! and then went to school for phlebotomy and now its dont bother me!

I hope everything turns out ok for you.  I've never been scared of needles.  I don't even really feel it.  I used to turn my head but now I look to see what's going on.  I don't like pain but I have no problems with needles.

It's weird. I don't mind getting shots, and I have a tattoo, but there's something about fluids leaving my body!

That's how mine used to be! They could never find the vein when I was little, so they had to poke me about a hundred times. The lady that took my blood this time did an awesome job!

no but i bet they took for ever. when i took my son to the hospital on base. they took three in ahalf hrs to be able to put stiches on him. i was mad but good thing is head stopped bleeding.

my brother and my dad are the same way.  I'm the black sheep of the family, I just sit there and watch the whole thing happen.  I'd do it myself, if i had the training. (granted, I'm in school for medical, so I suppose I could do it... its not complicated.  Just the idea of practicing stabbing myself with a needle seems idiotic)

But the other 2 guys in my family... they get light headed seeing blood, especially when its their own and its being drawn out.  I don't get it... but they don't get why I'm interested in it all...

This is the (sarcastic) best part of the whole thing. I won't know what the results mean until September 8th!
