Shower Pampering
« on: August 24, 2010, 07:59:35 am »
Hey Ladies how do you pamper yourself when in the shower? Extra conditioner in your hair, shave those spots that have really been bugging you?

I take a hot bubble bath when I feel like having "me time." I usually do a face mask while I'm in there relaxing. Afterwords I like to give myself a manicure or pedicure. It's nice to just take time to baby yourself!

I love my bath time...avocado mask and a good book ahhhh...once a week I give my hair a deep conditioning treat. This will save you the big bucks at the salon: Apply conditioner to washed hair AFTER getting out of the shower. Pile hair on head and cover with shower cap or wrap with plastic wrap (traps the heat). Then wrap your head with a HOT towel and leave on from 20 minutes to 1 hour, reheat towel as needed. The heat is what really gets that conditioner set in. Then just rinse and voila! Keeping the towel on that long is a P.I.T.A. so I bought a turbie twist and use that.

Definitely pamper myself in the bath. Hot oil treatment and just plain relaxing
That which can be asserted without evidence, can be dismissed without evidence.

You can't reason someone out of a position they didn't reason themselves into in the first place.

You can use extra virgin olive oil also.  Or the old fashioned Mayo but not crazy about that one.  I like the evoo just heat it and put on just like the hot oil treatment and you can add some conditionar if you want to it and shower cap / plastic wrap and a warm towels etc.  But I rarely get me time with two boys and only parent.   :cat: :dog:

Me time?  What's that?  lol  I have 6 kids, 5 dogs, a husband, a landscaping business to run PLUS I make money from home online....

But when I did have the time - I liked scented candles, soft music, aroma bath salts or creams...and the water as hot as I could stand it.

Awww. How do you manage the time? Between the kids, dogs, and your husband. It's got to be hectic and with the landscaping business too. You're superwoman. Lol! Don't know how you do it, but if you can do it that means I can do it too. I just have my husband, my brother, and myself to worry about right now. But when the kids come along later that would be a different story.

As for me, I use hot water, pantene pro-v for color treated hair, and definitely the soft music and Oil of Olay bodywash. It smells so good.

I like to use strongly scented body wash and facial cleansers.  The steam and the fragrance can do wonders for your senses and it helps you relax.  I love also using facial scrubs, I really like the scrubbing sensation on my face.  St ives is wonderful, it is inexpensive and the crushed apricot pits feel so great on your face plus it removes dead skin cells.

I've been using the new Dove Intensive Repair it's fantastic! And the new Suave Professionals line is great too...IDK if anyone else is like me but I  the way my hair smells after a trip to the salon, and the new Suave smells the same! Also- I did the mayo thing to my hair and it works well too but not any better than good ole conditioner....

I stay in the shower until the hot water runs out...lotion.  Pedicure and Manicure once a week.  I've used Jafra's Malibu Miracle Mask for 30 years.....use it once a week also.  Biolage Shampoo, and Daily Leave In Tonic.  After shampooing, I apply Bocato Curlkarma for a leave in conditioner.  Since I have 3 feet of hair, I spend a fortune for hair products.

I use to love pampering myself, now there's little time.
