Why do Christians hate atheists?

I totally "disagree"  the quote "if you don't believe in Jesus, you will burn in hell!"  Jesus/God are forgiving.  He or whom ever you beleive in should recognize we are humans and we make mistakes. We grow and learn all our lives. Yes, mistakes can occur, but I firmly beleive, we, , do not have to punish or hate.  Their mistakes will always live within them.  Maybe.... there is something physically wrong with their brain and medical society can't fix it.  Should we condem this person/s?  Maybe if we show some kindness they will feel it and try to follow in a better path.    if we all could be more tolerant of others and their beliefs... Children are born, they are parented and formed by the individuals who surround them, maybe being bullied all their lives, make them break down.  We are not all superstars and if we look in our country watch the tragic ways some young children live or adults who suffer and can't understand why....we have to move along in the best manner, believe in yourself and they good will flow!

You can disagree with it, but it won't change what the Bible says.

Sorry if that sounds mean, but crafting your own god to suit your individual needs/wants doesn't make him any more real.

Sorry if I've repeated some of the arguments already made but I get ahead of myself and respond before I have time to go back and read the 50 posts already made in response haha...

It would be nice to be able to have an actual debate without people feeling the need to insult one another or their beliefs, but it didn't take much to realize that most (definitely not all) but most people on this thread had that one intention. Watching people put others down via the internet makes me thankful for my God and his forgiveness.

   I appreciate what you have to say.  At least several of us now are actually questioning/discussing/debating instead of goading and picking on one certain member (as back near the beginning of this thread.)  That wasn't right and got way off the subject at hand.

   Mickey,  thank you for what you have done/and do for our country and others.  We are grateful.  My older son has been to Iraq 3 times - We thank the Lord that each time he has come back safe to his family.  He had things happen to him and saw things that we will never understand, but he is firm in his committment to his country and his comrades.

They pick on me cause they know with what I say, they can't convince me of no God being there. I am a lost cause to them BUT it really don't help their stance.

There has to be a bit more to it then simply people wanting to hate on other people. I rarely catch chit from the Christians or the Atheist/Agnostics.

I wonder why that might be?

Christians hate the sin, but love the sinner.....just as God does.  That doesn't mean we upbraid them for their sin, but try to show a better way to live.  If we saw our worst enemy in the torment of hell, none of of would have any hate at all for anyone.  No Christian wants to see anyone lost.  If they do, they need to revaluate why they are Christian, for God is love.

But there lies the ignorance of your path,, most people like myself do not need you to say that im a sinner, I am lost. No I am not a Christian, No I do not belief in your god, BUT good for you im glad you are happy, sincerely I am to each there own. I am not trying to change anyone's mind. And in all due respect neither do you. To say that people who have no "god" in there life is lost. Yes that is being judgemental. And above all this stems hatred. I speak for myself only but I am not lost I know who I am, were I came from, right from wrong, love and the respect that all individuals need. That is not someone saying they are lost or in need of faith.

No there's no ignorance in my path.  I believe in the Bible, you do not, that's the difference here, pure and simple.  I will not argue the Truth of the Word of God.  It's a free choice to accept or reject it.  You've made your own choices.  

As far as any thing stemming from "hatred".  That's your conception of what I wrote  Yes, I hate child molestation, murder of the innocents, rape, etc.  Is that the hate your referring to?  Your accusing me of being judgmental, when in essence that's what your exhibiting.

The question of whether your lost or not is actually according to your own choice if you are or not according to the scriptures.  Since you don't believe the Bible, you think you are not......I'll move on.  I never "push" anyone to Christianity.

I present the material, but I can't make you care.  I can't make you do anything, who would want to?  When I encounter this, I move on to someone who actually want's some answers about what the word of God says.  That's not you, so
