  Yes, they are in a way,, when we earn $600, we have to deal with the paperwork, the same way  a regular worker does. We are kind of employees of FUSION CASH.. But they are GREAT bosses !!!!

In the technical/legal sense all FC members are independent contractors working for FusionCash.

Most GPT sites have an explicit statement in their TOS that members are not em'ees of the company. FC does not have that statement, but it seems clear that we are not employee's.  Instead, FC is a service provider and we are independant contractors using their services.

There is a clear statement in the TOS that we are responsible for all taxes that might be levied against the amounts we receive.  The IRS requires service providers who pay more than $600 (annually) to any one person or organization to file a 1099 for the amount provided and submit that 1099 to the IRS and the person/organization who received that amount.  To do that, FC will ask you for your SS # when you get close to achieving that amount.

Other sites require you to provide your SS# up front or submit the 1099 on lower amounts.

The purpose, obviously, is to make sure that the receipant pays taxes on the amounts received.

Great information thanks for making this post. I did not know if we made $600 that we would have to do paper work for taxes. Hell that says we have to make $50 a month. I am no where near that right now. Guess its not that bad that I only make about 12 a month lol

As always, we can't offer tax advice, but you should be aware that ALL amounts earned are taxable, whether there's a 1099-MISC or not.  Even $25 should be reported on your income tax return.  I suggest you err on the side of caution and report it, because the IRS is cracking down on independent contractors who don't follow through on all the paperwork & reporting.  Please see a licensed tax professional who can examine your particular situation and don't take advice from an internet forum -- even if people are well informed and well intentioned, their advice cannot apply to everyone, because everyone's tax situation is different.

@Administrator - Thank you for responding....okay...this will be interesting then...but FC doesn't need to verify our idenity, right?  Unless, people can't verify themselves by using a phone...
