Thats not exactly "easy" for most people. One mistake, and youre possibly faceing an un-bootable system and possibly requireing a re-installation of Windows. That is, unless you make a back-up of all 5 Hives. :P

I always have a backup, but, I'v had to do this several times to eliminate malware. My least favorite was called security tool, for which I had to start in Safe mode and then take it out of the registry. So anyway, any luck on a survey?
