Birthday Advice
« on: August 18, 2010, 09:14:56 pm »
My husbands birthday is coming up and we are VERY strapped for cash right now.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to what I could do for him that is extremely cheap, but still cool??  :dontknow:

LOL! Just kidding, that's a tough one, how about doing several little things for him instead of one big thing-it would be less expensive-like a scavenger hunt for your love!!!

Cook him his favorite meal (hopefully it's not lobster), maybe rent or download a movie, and bake him a cake. Then just hang out. Maybe you guys could go to the beach, take a walk on the boardwalk. Really take advantage of things that are free. Maybe take a look at the events that are going on around your city and attend them. Farmer's markets (hopefully I'm not the only one that sees this as something fun to do), hiking, biking. You can go to museums and the library if you're into that sort of stuff. Good luck!

He can get a lot of things for free at restaurants since it will be his birthday! Just search for a list of b-day freebies and be sure to call the restaurants ahead of time to see if they do it in your area. A lot of ice cream places participate too! You might be able to get a free movie rental because it's his b-day or look up redbox rental codes for a free rental. A full body massage would be good too, guys like to be pampered once in a while. :)

once, for my guy's 24th birthday, i had 12 balloons
blown up at the dollar store (you could probably just
blow them up yourself though) and i made these little
"reasons i love you" tags. there was one reason on
each side, and i attached them to the bottom of the
balloons, totaling 24 reasons. i had them tie really long
strings on them, so when he came home from work
he had to walk through them and read each one...
it looked really neat!

when he made his way through the maze of balloons,
i was waiting in the dining room with his favorite dinner
made and a cake cooling in the fridge.

we have the tags and deflated balloons in a big scrapbook! :)
[ we all have a place in history. mine is in the clouds. ]

Food and Sex. Isn't that pretty much all a guy really wants?  :)
