Recipe Book Lets Have Some Fun
« on: January 28, 2008, 11:14:30 am »
                         Lets have some fun being Creative.

Ok all of us like to eat good food and most of us would say that home made is the best food of all.  So here is an idea for any one who wishes to share.

  What is the best thing you make that every one would enjoy?  Give us the recipe so we can all make it and enjoy it in our homes.

I think this could be a fun blog and lets see how many recipes we could all come up with.  Who knows maybe we all could get it published and call it the Fusion Cash Cook Book.

I'm not sure how much everyone will like this, but I'm from MD, and we love our crabs.. I make a great cream of crab soup..

INGREDIENTS

    * 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
    * 1 (1.25 ounce) envelope hollandaise sauce mix
    * 4 cups half-and-half, divided
    * 1/4 cup butter
    * 3 tablespoons Old Bay Seasoning TM
    * 1/2 teaspoon dry mustard
    * 1/4 teaspoon celery seed
    * 1 cup whipping cream
    * 1 tablespoon cooking sherry
    * 1 pound fresh crabmeat
DIRECTIONS

   1. In a medium bowl, blend flour and hollandaise sauce mix with 2 cups half-and-half.
   2. Melt butter in a medium, heavy saucepan over medium heat. Slowly add hollandaise mixture, stirring constantly until thickened. Add remaining half-and-half, Old Bay, dry mustard, celery seed, and whipping cream. Bring to a simmer and reduce heat to low. Add crabmeat and sherry, stirring gently until warmed through. Serve immediately.

Enjoy!!  It tastes great!

Prep Time: 20 Min.- Cook Time: 10 Min.- Ready In:- 30 Min.- Serves: 4

Ingredients:
2-2 ounce skirt steaks (this can be adjusted according to each individuals eating habits/portions)
1 teaspoon chili powder
1 clove garlic, chopped
Salt and black pepper
3/4 teaspoon Chinese chili paste (Can also use regular version)

1/4 cup cilantro, roughly chopped
Juice and zest of 1 lime
1 medium red bell pepper, julienned

2 tablespoon olive oil
1 avocado, sliced into wedges

Cooking Instructions:
Rub the steak with chili powder, garlic, salt and pepper. In a dish, cover the steak with chili paste, 4 Tablespoons scallions and extra virgin olive oil. Marinate for 10 minutes. Preheat the grill.

Meanwhile, in a bowl, toss together the remaining scallions, cilantro, lime juice and zest, red peppers, onions and olive oil. Season with salt and pepper.

When the grill is hot, add the steak, and give it a quarter turn every 2 minutes for beautiful grill marks. Let rest for 5 minutes.

Meanwhile, assemble the salad on plates. Using tongs, place the salad, peppers and onions in the center of each plate and garnish with avocado wedges on 3 sides. Thinly slice the steak and place in front of salad.

Round Out the Meal with warmed tortillas.

To make Kid Friendly:
Omit the chili paste and scallions. Add thinly sliced carrots.

LMFAO! You go girl!

I love to cook though. Hubby just says it was an added bonus when we started dating.
But I cannot say that I blame ya. That was typical of the women in like the 50's & 60's: to be barefoot, pregnant & Miss. Mary Homemaker!
Nowadays, more women are independant and more men have to fend for themselves.
WHATEVER will they do...?
LoL :thumbsup:
