Do you Feel or think the Recession is over?

I hear and read all the time that the recession is over, but how can that be when companies are still closing and people are still losing their jobs.  From what I have observed foreclosures have increased and the terrible part about it is there is no one out there who can help or is willing to help the little or poor people like me.  Obama and staff gave all the milions and billions to these different companies but nothing to help people survive and keep their homes.

What are your thoughts regarding the recession?

I think it's getting better, but not over-I think the challenge is that other issues have happened that have made it tougher on our economy, so progress is being withheld for a while....

I dont feel like its over...  to me higher prices does not mean its over... That is all i see in our area...

I heard the recession is suppose to be over since last year, but I guess its all talk because the economy is still bad.

it is not over yet. the casino that my boyfriends tribe owns has to cut per cap checks because they arent brining in enough money. thats a pay check reduction of 16,000 a year so until we can get our checks raised back in my opinion the recession isnt over.

I donot feel that the recession is over. There are still a lot of people that is out of work andcant find jobs, places to live it is horrible. I think it will take some time to get things back on track.

 There are so many different opinions about the recession. My personal opinion is that it will take a while before this country can see a silver lining. There are still alot of people who are out of work, cannot find work due to so many businesses' folding. It is like a domino effect. More companies will fold because of unemployment. Government are not interested in helping the little people. They just want to pile more on the working class, more taxes, more demands while they create loopholes for the rich. My heart goes out to all the families who have lost all their retirement, homes and hope. In the area where I live it has gotten to be a common site to see families living out of their cars( if they were lucky enough to have it paid off) or have families living in the parks. Churches and Food Banks in the area are trying to keep up with the overwhelming demand but even they are struggling to keep afloat.
So on that note, let me end by saying Be thankful if you are still afloat and reach out to those who are slowly sinking.

It certainly is not over and nowhere close to being so. From what I've been reading we're heading towards a depression and things that happened last Tuesday with the fed creating 600 billion dollars out of thin air will not help it. QE2 and the proposal of QE3 will not help either.

As long as we have a fiat system, this will never be right. And while people like Paulson and Geitner are in control and writing the laws that affect their buddies over at Goldman Sachs and AIG; we're continually getting nothing more than screwed.

People are still looking for work.  The economy is still struggling.  I think that we are still in a recession and I don't think the recession is over.  I think we will start to see a turnaround when home buying and selling begins to increase each month.
