Do You Make Homemade Ice Cream?

The only simplest homemade ice cream I ever know how to make without the use of an ice cream maker is to blend bananas and nuts such as cashews or almonds into the blender. I pour it into a glass and put in the freezer for 10-15 minutes before serving.  

Is that all?  Just bananas and nuts?  Don't you put any liquid in the blender with it?  Seems like you should add some milk or something.  It sounds like great protein though.

Oh yes, yes! I do add a little amount of water just enough to make the blender turn.  Ripe bananas are the best as they are sweet enough to leave out sweetners like maple syrup and agave nectar.

Okay, I've gotta try it.  I'm trying to get a good recipe for strawberry and banana ice cream.  I may just have to make it up.  I don't mind eating the mistakes...lol

I haven't had homemade ice cream in years.

We used to have to crank it by hand.....kind of messy.  But it was  family project and the results were worth the effort.

We no longer have a ice cream maker...

Its been a while since I made homemade ice cream.  I like experimenting with different flavors or a  combo of different flavors which is the  fun part.

I use half-and-half instead of milk. My favorites are Black Walnut, Cinnamon, and Strawberry.

I love homemade icecream.  Plus you can find some simple versions out there.  You flavors all sound great.
