offers for mobile phones/text

I just completed one and it told me it was $9.99/month.
I replied "stop" to the text...
Am I gonna get charged for this?
Are these offers worth it?

You may want to contact your cell phone provider to verify the charge was really canceled off your account.  I accidentally signed up for one of these type of mobile offers (not through FC) and I texted the stop too, however when I got my bill, not only was it still active, but the link signed me up for something else automatically that was $25/month service.  Fortunately my provider recognized that as a mobile scam and canceled the subscriptions and credited my account.

Not implying that's what these mobile offers are going to do - I'm just gun shy based on that bad prior experience.

Bottom line - call your provider to verify it was really canceled so you don't get an unexpected surprise on your next bill.

I don't do those mobile offers either.  I am pretty good with computers but for some reason when it comes to a cell phone I have a hard enough time figuring things out without adding unexpected charges.  Also, I gave out that number once on an offer and received text messages every 15 minutes for the next two weeks.  It took me forever to get it stopped.  I don't have unlimited texting, so that was an expensive lesson.

1) Enter your cell phone number on the offer
2) Confirm the PIN they text you
3) Wait like 10 minutes (or however long) until it credits
4) Text STOP (or whatever you're supposed to)
5) The next day, call your provider and confirm with them if there are any strange $9.99 charges or whatever

Personally I don't like these as much, I feel that calling my provider to be safe isn't worth it, even if the offers do pay you like 5 bucks a pop.

I won't do the mobile offers. I don't want to chance it!

I have not done any mobile offers as I only have limited minutes and I cannot take chances with oweing any extra money.  Toooo risky.   :-

Be careful about doing this.  You are supposed to do the offers with the intent of participating.  If you have a system in place where you automatically cancel and you are posting for others to do the same, FC may have a problem with that.

I personally just steer clear of the cell phone offers, I know some of them pay more, but I stick to the free offers or the offers that may cost but I am really interested in completing. That way, they are worth it no matter what. Also, as mentioned above, when you sign up with things like that I am pretty sure you are supposed to be interested in the service and not immediately cancel it.
