Deletes
« on: July 15, 2010, 11:24:43 pm »
I think there should be a limit on deleting posts.  I agree that there are times when it can be considered necessary, but it makes it difficult to go back through a thread on one of these topics and find several posts are deleted.  If it were more difficult to delete posts, maybe posters would spend more time thinking about what they are posting...

Just a thought.

i have deleted one post so far. i deleted it BEFORE anyone had had a chance to reply to it. my conscience got to me and i pretty much deleted it right after it posted. i think a person lacks integrity if they go back through discussions and delete their posts just so they don't look bad.

perhaps there should be a time frame of delete-ability?

i have come across a few discussions that were confusing due to deleted posts. so i agree with amy here

:sad1:  Sometimes I wish I wouldn't have posted something. I post personal things about my life as a disabled artist, which is very lonesome.. then, I get harassed for telling too much about my life.. So yes, I think people should respect what others write. And I'll try not to write so much personal stuff!!!

Maybe a good lesson to all - not just posting.  Sometimes we speak before we think and write and wish to take back.  Forethought beforehand for all of us may be the wiser, kinder thing to aspire to.  It was a reminder to myself to think before I speak, as I often do not do a great job of.

People should respect what other people write no matter how much you tell.  Some people share more than others that isn't always a bad thing especially if you are lonley.

I agree with sherna. People who delete things because they dont want to look bad and make it look like theyre the victim, shouldnt get to delete. I feel like everyone needs to respect everyone else in here. I'm new here, but I've already seen alot of stuff that worries me about the forums.

I'm confused what post? My suggestion keep things professional and write about things that you want to talk about without defending anyone or hurting yourself. Be careful, because people will get the wrong impression of your intentions. Good Luck!

Because they need something to start a fight about. I know exactly, I delete my posts, who cares? Read something else.

people can try to start a fight...but if you are not engaging in a fight then it's rather one sided and the people who started it are the ones that look bad. yet the people who are supposedly starting these fights are not the ones deleting posts.

If anyone ever has a problem with another member who you think is harassing you send in a ticket with their user name and I will personally look into the matter. Anyone found to be overly rude or harassing will lose their privilege to participate in this forum.

This thread is about me. I am the victim. Always have been.

... Wow really ? Why do you post things to goat people into saying stuff and then play victim?

Here is my advice for anyone who tends to harass, disrespect, fight with, or post negative comments just because you do not agree with what someone post in the forum.

People should be very careful of what they post in a forum.  You don't know where your comments or post will end up on the Internet.  What ever is written in a forum, doesn't always stay in a forum, it often goes elsewhere.  Individuals who spend their time providing negative feedback to other members are only hurting themselves in the long run.  If you don't have anything nice to say then don't say anything at all!  Just saying!!!

*andzigallery* I could not have put it in better words myself, I completely agree with you.  It's best to keep those negative comments to yourself.

Cuppycakes, you said it best - if you have nothing nice to say, say nothing at all.  Really peopke, what's the point.  Don't you have enough going on in your lives that you need to create wars in a forum?  This should be a helpful place to go.
