Desktop, no contest. Sure, you can take a laptop anywhere, but can it run as well or perform as fast as a desktop (without dishing out several hundred dollars more)? I'm a PC gamer. Desktop is a must.

However, for school, I would take a laptop over a desktop. ;)

I would take laptop for its mobility and convenience. However, when we're talking intensive use like gaming or the like, desktop would beat it any time.

My boyfriend has a desktop but bought a laptop for me from a co worker. It needs a little work but I'm rather excited to use it ( my first laptop )

:notworthy: I prefer to use a laptop because it is portable.

I've used both, and at times had both. I like other gamers, prefer a desk top simply because it processes everything faster, more memory and you don't have to worry about over heating (which really isn't a terribly major concern now with laptops but, it was when they first came out).  Right now I live in a house with six other people 4 of us have computers, all of which are laptops, having a desktop set up anywhere around here would be pretty hard.  This way we can take our homework and do it wherever we find some peace and quiet lol.

I am also juggling between the two, I know I get more bang for the buck with a desktop, but the portability with a laptop is extremely nice. hmmm

Ive always used a desktop, but have always wanted a laptop and am saving up to get one for online college courses as its more mobile, but ive heard they are less upgradeable and have cooling issues, but i have had the same desktop since sometime in 2001 and it does what i need it too, just cant carry it around with me.. lol
