Is our Economy getting better or worse?

Already Its almost been a year and I'm still out of work I'm wandering if this state is going to be better or worse.. Being out of work is very hard for me cause im use to be gone all day everyday..Since i've been sitting at home its been a change of pace for me...My stress level as rise and my confidence level has declined..Im looking for good advise if you people have any, or Im all ears if u have ideas or personal experince that u have been through.

Slowly recovering but being shredded by the government.
I work for the state government and they just cut a lot of the useful jobs; but all the policy makers and their lackeys get bonuses; call it mispending.

It is about the same I think, though gas prices are a huge relief since 2008
