It only works with certain numbers like 1-9 or 1-10 or something like that.

 thats a really good numbers trick, but I have heard that one before. And it does work every time!

Great math trick. I enjoyed doing it with several numbers and it worked every time!

interesting...but it makes sense if you think about...you're doubling it, then you end up dividing by two...after adding 5 (which is 10 divided by 2)...
there's some other interesting ones out there too that are a bit more complicated....but thanks for sharing!

Yeah similar ones include adding say 16 after doubling it. Then dividing by 2 and subtracting 8 and you get the original number.
