i really can't put a set amount that would make me happy. just as long as i have enough to take care of my family so that they don't go without the things that they NEED.

Yeah, I think its the people in your lives that you surround yourself with that define how "rich" you are. Money is nice, but it can all burn up in a fire, along with all of your other posessions. If my husband and my daughter are happy and fed, and we can live comfortably, then whatever we have is OK with me, just as long as they are healthy and well talken care of.

I would be happy if I could pay my house off and just keep working to pay my utilities. If I didnt have an $800 house note I could save my money to buy something that I actually wanted. Wishful think 29 more years of my house note to go

Pour moi, enough to pay all of the bills, save some, go to the movies/out to eat/etc. freely, buy unlimited video games, go on at least one major vacation a year and maybe a mini-excursion or two - all while not living paycheck-to-paycheck...that's it.  So basically, the amount I have now is sufficient because I swap what most people spend their money on (pricey cell phones, cars, and houses) for experiences.
