When We Were Young I Remember

When I was young all of the neighborhood kids would get together to play outside from sun up to sundown in the summer time, and in the winter time we would stay out in the snow until we were frozen solid! Now kids just want to play on the computer, play video games, anything that does not involve breaking a sweat.

When I was young  I remember playing kick ball in the street with all the kids that lived there small neigborhood no blacktop just dirt road it was great all the parents were the cheering section and even the smallest played with help from someone that was bigger Great fun

when i was about 5-8 years old we would all pile in the car and go for a ride, which was in the 70s, anyways nobody cared about being buckled up and i would lay in the back window it was fun , me and my sister and cousins would actually get in arguments on who could lay in the back window...its so dangerous ..my my how the laws have changed.

When I was young I remember not being allowed to spend a night at a friends during a school night.

Now that I have my own place I don't want to spend the night at a friends house ever. lol

When we were young I remember going walking, my sister, cousins, girlfriends and everybody else little sisters and brothers would walk with us. We used to get dressed up to walk down town to the Library, had our little short sets and sandals. Remember those what we called Roman Sandals, now I think they call them Jesus Sandals. We had fifty cents between all of us and we could get 50 pieces of candy or cookies and had enough for everyone at the 5 and 10 cents store.

When I was young I rememeber making our own entertainment. It was called imagination. Instead of always having to be entertained with TV, video games etc....

In the summer we would collect lighting bugs in a jar, my Mom would put holes in the lid with a screw driver and hammer. I'm so glad PETA was a big thing back then. It was great fun to watch them light up in the dark garage. I know I had a pretty lame life.

When I was young they tore down the Berlin wall.  now I believe we should build indesstructibel bubble saround pakistan and iraq and afganistan

I remember the ugly polyester shirts and the bell bottom pants.  Bell bottoms were ok, but I don't want to ever see another polyester shirt again.....

When I was young there were drive in movies!  I always thought they were great   Fun memories sitting in the car eating treats we brought from home.  Also when I was young eating out was a TREAT!  now most people eat out more than they cook at home.

When I was young I remember beanie babies were really popular and I had hundreds of them! I also remember playing hide and go seek, freeze tag, and ghost in the graveyard all the time! My biggest worry at that time was if i was going to get to play outside or not...now it's do I have enough money to pay this bill or that!! Oh to go back to the good ol days

I remeber there was a trend...people had to have certain things..like pokeman cards, yoyo, and baseball cards.. there were a lot of trends

When I was I could play outside in my neighborhood till street lights came on and really had no boundaries where I could go..Smurfs we cool..Heman was on and dumb lmao..And Atari was the bomb!!

Baseball football basket ball   at night usually jail break with 30 kids  or what was the game where you have two teams and one team would jump on the other teams back and try to collapse them  im thinking we called it buck buck  no computers back then  but lots of energy

Here is mine:  When we were young there were no cell phones and people did not have house phone, we had to go over to someone house that had a phone to use them. We would always say "Can I borrow your phone?" Never borrowed a phone could not take it out of the house, and there was no such thing as a cordless phone. I don't know why we said that. LOL 

living in ky and not wanting to carry the glass milk jug any longer, so i threw it in the air , it broke and my father made me eat my cereal without milk for two days . it wasn't hard to carrry the glass jug after that!!!!!!
