How many people wear/need glasses?

I am farsighted and have been wearing glasses full time for five years. I think I look better with them than without. My husband also wears glasses he's nearsighted) and he looks so handsome in them.

I hate glasses, and will NOT wear contacts. I don't even wear sunglasses, they bother me   Bad news, I had to renew my driverse license and guess what

I wear contacts during the day with sunglasses each and everytime I go outside. At night I wear my glasses. I can't see at all without them so I'm stuck. I'd like to get laser eye surgery, but the possible side effects scare me.

My glasses are a life line. Lets say I go with wearing my glasses for a month I am asking for a migraine for the next 2 months.

I wear glasses (near sighted and astigmatism) and have every since I was 5 or 6 year old. There have saved my eyes on many occassions "flying objects landing on the lense" and are much more convenient than contacts able to take them on an off whenever needed. I have never understood why people want to ditch the glasses so readily. I would never consider lasik because my father had a botched lasik procedure so he is legally blind in one eye and there is no way to correct it with contacts. He also has terrible night vision with large halos and starbursts around every light outside. Yea I will just use the glasses.

I'm 59 and have needed vision correction since I was in the 5th grade.  It started with nearsightedness, and I wore "Far Side" glasses for years.  I finally got toric contacts.  Since I work at the computer all day, I don't wear anything for that.  I wear bifocals in my middle-aged years now for driving, watching TV and reading.

I wear contacts! My prescription is high and so I don't like the way the glasses look (even the ultra thin ones) plus I can see better with contacts even if my glasses are an updated prescription. I drive my eye doctor nuts because I will tell him that I can't see as clearly as I should be able to and he tells me I have 20/20 vision, but I'm used to being able to see better than that (though only a little). LOL
