I dont guess it Has to be that way, but Life sets in and (i think) to be perfectly honest, you take for granted that that person will just be there.
at first you are all excited and want to spend every waking moment with a person and when you finally do get to spend every waking moment with that person you also get to spend all the time with the nagging, and all thier little  annoyances, etc.
You have to pay bills, think about this and that and the other and who has time to sit around holding hands and playing kissy face when you know...or think...that person will be there tomorrow...maybe tomorrow you'll have time.
I have only ever seen a few ppl that have been married for YEARS and they acted like there were still dating and when i asked them how they did that...they said...they were best friends and they make TIME for each other.

What it is is that people change with the passage of time, sometimes they grow together and sometimes they grow apart.

If you both cannot put those little things that annoy you aside, and just be happy with eachother, no matter what, then it wasn't meant to be. You have to be able to weather the storm together. Being in a relationship is not a part time job, it takes alot of work. Also, put yourself in the other persons shoes. Are the arguments happening between you just a front for something else? Thats what I have learned over 9 wonderful years. Believe me, they werent all peaches and cream, but it doesn't matter.  I love my husband tremendously, no matter what, but I show him as much as I can as well. Sometimes just saying "I Love YOU" and holding hands isnt enough.  What else do you do for him to show him that you appreciate him? Do you give him his own space, which men need from time to time to think? Or are you always on him 24/7??. Ask yourself those questions first.

I notice that you get used to a person and expect them to be there for you and you tend to forget to "be there" for them.  I have gotten so comfortable with my husband that I forget about all mushyness that we used to have.
PS if you have kids they suck up all the free time you have and when you do get some you want to sleep and have some quiet time NOT "do something" with your partner.  That just how life is!  The good thing is if you're conscience of this you can make an effort to change and have the best of both worlds.  GOOD LUCK ;)

It doesn't always have to be that way.  My boyfriend and I broke up for about a month and a half and we have now been back together for 4 months and we are planning a future together...of course we were dating for 3 years before we broke up so we have known eachother for a very long time.

Well I will be married 61 yrs in June, so I have been one of the lucky ones, and you know changes is good. If you don't make it as long as my husband and I then changes must of been bad.

I have been married for only one year!! lol..been together four, married for one. Im curious to see how things change for us. Before I married my husband, i literally asked myself "if my husband became paralyzed and could not wipe his behind, would i do it for him?".....lol..THATS LOVE!! THATS HOW YA KNOW IF YOU REALLY LOVE SOMEONE!! LOL..so hopefully we continue to have a happy marriage overall through the years!

I have been with my husband for 7 years. Yes things change, but my husband still surprises me with flowers, gifts and we have a date day every week. That's when the kids are in school and he takes me out for lunch. Its a two way street, you just have to make sure to be there for each other. I do not see a change except the fact we are both much more busier than we were years ago but we always wake up together to I love yous and we fall asleep to the same message to each other. O and I will throw this in when he watches football I usually go shopping. HAHA win win for both!!!
