I am in my home....it is situated next to a lovely stream, and each day, I wake up to the sound of a babbling stream, with wild ducks and Blue Herons and trout, in the stream....my large porch provides a panoramic view of the stream, and on occasion, a bear with cubs will walk by, or deer wll go to drink water and wild turkeys will come along, picking at the ground near the stream.  It is an awesome place to live!

That sounds a lot like where I live. We live by a creek that runs through the mountains and it is more than a babbling brook this morning after the rain we had last night, it is a roaring stream now rushing down the mountain and carrying huge bolders with it. Our elevation here is over 4500 ft and spring is just bursting out all around here. Apple blossoms are flying in the wind and I have to double check to be sure it's not snow! Occasionally we see herds of wild turkeys in the yard or on the nearby hills. We keep an eye open for a bear, especially now as they are quite hungry, I'm sure.

Well, I must say....you are experiencing the wildness of living by a stream....luckily, we are "flatlanders", so we get what you describe......AFTER the snowmelt!  We were close to flooding, but, NOW, it so calm, and quiet.....as in "after the storm."  Yes. the bears are hungry, so we do "watch" for them.  AND we don't feed them.....worse thing you can do!

I am sitting at my desk in Provo, Utah.  But I should be outside because it's finally nice out there!
