Ehh...not really. It's kind of a stretch. Why would doctors be in conspiracy when they get a lot of money from insurance companies as it is? People without insurance usually get a 40-60% discount in the ER due to the bills being extremely high. I was in the ER last summer when I dislocated my shoulder horribly. For about 20 mins total. It literally took 15 seconds to fix after a quick x-ray (easily popped right back into place). The bill? +2300$. No joke. They even told me I should get a small surgery to repair the cartalidge (sp?) damage and that would cost way over 10k. Ugh...I should have went to med school...

I just think it's because what you listed is wising up to seeing how insurance is only being affordable for rich people. They won't take people with pre-existing conditions because they're afraid to lose money. Even if they develop a condition, that persons premiums will skyrocket or they'll simply cut them off due to some stupid fine-print copout. A good example of this is like the movie "The Rainmaker". Capitalistic corruption. I believe the gov't just wants to even the playing field a bit...which is nice, but even then I am VERY worried about their coming solutions and the corruptions that may follow.
