Do you eat a lot of salty foods?

Usually salty foods have a lot to do with it.

Although it is possible you have bad circulation or tight shoes  :D
Eat some cyan pepper (i think thats how to spell it) helps with circulation

elevate your feet.  Make sure to exercise (walking is great for ankle swelling) -- limit the sodium intake (not just "salt") and make sure you are drinking fluids.

It could be a lot of things, and since we don't know anything about your history it would be hard to give advice. Retaining water is one possible reason for the swelling and is mostly caused by excess salt in the diet. If you have diabetes the swelling could be a result of that. If your Doctor is not too concerned then it may not be an issue that is a threat to your health. Watch the swelling, cut back on salt and see what happens. If you are concerned go see another Doctor and get another opinion. Good luck to you.

Too much sitting, is bad for circulation. Along with too much sodium.

I feel for you!! I dont miss my days of swelled feet and ankles while pregnant. I know you are not pregnant but that is the only time i had this problem. Elevate your feet for about an hour and relax.. :icon_rr:

  8) Keep your ankles elevated while you are sitting down watching TV...low sodium in your diet or eliminate salt altogether.

Why wouldn't you ask your doctor about the cholesterol level, why ask on here? I am a medical specialist with 30 years experience, but would never give you advice on a forum such as this.
