I work for a H & R Block and will be unemployed after April 15th. I am totally bummed. I am also scared at the same time. I enrolled back into school but I will also need to look for another job. If anyone knows of any clerical positions open please let me know.

The unemployment picture is very scary but my past experience has been that if cashiering or waitressing or janitorial is all that is available, do it. You never know what experiences any opportunity will open for you even when you can't see how it possibly can.  Everything we do teaches us something.  And, when in doubt about what to do, just do something.

They say things are getting better, but it sure doesn't seem like it.  I too have been looking for over 6 months.

Well just put a lot of effort into fusion cash and other survey site you do and you could work from home. But i think fusion cash itself could make you a lot of money!

While I dont think it is possible to make a lot of money off of sites like these, it is possible to get enough income to help offset the hard times on sites like these.

The best way to get a job in this economy is to find out what areas are currently hiring and in demand. Also look to the future in that job market to see if it has stability. Then retrain yourself as well as you can and make yourself desirable over all these other applicants.

Even during the depression there were some people who still managed to find work, they did this by making themselves knowledgeable in that job field.

Keep your heads up, we can and we will get through these hard times.

I hear you... my husband was unemployed for six months finally got a job and no choice for me but quit my job because no one will watch my kids, but since i am aware that there's a way to earn money online, not much but it will help... surveys, data entry jobs thru freelance companies, eventually everything will be fine..

I think that it's just a tough job market right now, every where. I relocated and am working part time, while searching for and applying to other part time jobs and full time jobs. I'm just thankful to have one job!

however, unemployment is not fun. if you have certain skills (such as house cleaning, personal assistant stuff, running errands, etc) then maybe you should market yourself with an ad listing what work you'd do. you never know, someone might answer your ad because they need your help. AND maybe you could start your own business and work off of a referral basis :)
