Do you believe in open relationships?
« on: March 26, 2010, 05:37:57 pm »
Its not for me, but I know that some feel that its ok. I say to each's own, meaning whatever floats your boat, but like I said its just not the way I roll. I think if you find someone you can truly connect with why risk losing a good thing, just to be free to date other people why lose what you have now for just a possibility of somthing with someone else. whats your view point? :peace: :)

I haven't done it, but if you are just starting out dating and you wanted to get to know the person first, I would say openness would be a good thing. I don't speak from experience though  :P

I really don't understand open relationships.  To me it just things more complicated that things should be.  But like what was said before to each their own, just not for me.

I think it'd be pretty tough.  But, if my girlfriend said I could go bang whomever I wanted and she wouldn't care, that'd be fine with me  ;D

Can you really count it as a real relationship if you are dating around? Open relationships sound like glorified dating, you just happen to have a favorite person to go home to.

It all depends on the person you are trying to have one with and the situation I suppose.
I mean, I have been in one and I managed to make it work fine.
I wasn't seeing anyone else, we just weren't together... which was nice because I didn't feel obligated to see her all the time.

I agree. A relationship is hard work and commitment. BUT again, everyone has their own opinion. It's just not my style and eventually you have to deal with jealousy and hurt.

Why even be in a relationship?  Why not just stay single and see lots of different people if that's what you want?

mmm, yeah, that's mostly my take on it.  I usually keep my nose in my own bed, though....

I personally don't believe in open relationships but if both people are ok with it, why not?
