Any plans? Any thoughts about the "holiday" in general?

No plans. It was a college favorite, what with the green beer and excessive drunkeness, but now it's just another day.

We're heading over to our local Irish Pubs...in one of them they bring in bag pipers at around 11 p.m. very fun. We're not in college anymore either, but still like to go celebrate a holiday when we can and when work isn't in the way.

we are not irish but we like the meal so once a year we have it :)

I like the shamrock shake from Mc.Donalds but I haven't gotten one yet -- I might check that out :)

Well st. Patrick's day is on Wednesday, and I have the week off from school.  I think me and my man and my one year old son will probably go to the parade that they will have...

I'm going to an irish restaurant for lunch for fish and chips and a guinness or 2.  Then I'll drink more and probably have corned beef for dinner.
As for it being a "holiday"...stop being so egocentric.  The irish have been celebrating st. patrick's day for over a thousand years.  However the American version with a parade and all started in 1762.  Just trying to expand your idea of drunken idiots using a holiday as an excuse to drink.
