You should be grateful to me, so maybe in the future you won't have to deal again with what wouldn't have been an issue if your rules were clear to begin with. I actually can't believe it's taken this long for someone to want to contact another member of this site apart from these forums
As you said, this is a business, so you needn't take matters personal when I call you out for reprimanding me for rules you made up on the fly. My time is just as valuable as yours, and it's been wasted here as well, so don't pretend it was MY incompetence that led to this issue. Since I'm helping you dictate your own guidelines, I'd also recommend that you include "These rules are subject to change without notice". That will cover you on most instances such as these, so you can modify your rules on the go rather than creating new meanings from what clearly was intended to mean something else.
I'm not here to like you, and I couldn't care less if you like me, so you don't have to remind me I'm here here by choice. I'll respect your newly created rules as you've set out, even though I think we both know you made them out of spite, seeing as how you've given me three different and very vague reasons for why we're not allowed to contact folks apart from this site if we choose. I've never heard of a business that didn't allow its employees to correspond with one another apart from their work place, but it's your business so you run it as you see fit.
I don't like being trouble, despite what you may think. I always follow the rules of a board, and will continue to do so and hope I don't have to deal with another debacle like this again.
Also, this edit you made to your post putting me on blast for something we discussed through a support ticket is very unprofessional, not to mention completely nonsensical.
So I'd say it's pretty obvious that there are indeed referral links on that site (in some form or another) and thus its promotion was a violation of the rules even before I made the update. You happy now?
This "In one form or another" is clearly another failed attempt to squeeze out a meaning from your rules that you never intended to imply. To be clear, I have TWO referrals to this site and close to a hundred members on my own. If I had posted referral links then I would have a great many more referrals, as my influence is significant. Again, I do not break rules, and your accusations to the contrary are not only unfounded, they're insulting. You would like to pretend that I violated another non-existent rule, but unless it previously read somewhere that you're not allowed to give out a referral link through a private medium on what was then private forum with explicit instruction not to share it with anyone else on the board, then you so clever cause I'm busted. Since you appear to be new to the internet, allow me to educate you: sending a referral link via private messages is NOT the same as posting it on the site. I highly doubt you could find anyone with common sense that would disagree.
Concerning Kohler's helpful additions: you can show me as many doors as you like, you big bad staff member you, since you certainly can't show me this place is run with any degree of professionalism. I didn't think that the admin of this site required some pep-squad to come in here puffing out his or her chest only to reiterate what's already been said. Look guy, I can bold too and "I will say it again":
I'm not here to cause trouble, but when you bring trouble to me I'm surely going to give it right back. Either ban me already or conduct yourselves with integrity and stop pretending this situation is my fault, because all these petty threats and accusations are beneath us. We're all here to conduct our own business, so leave me to mines until the next time you decide to harass me for breaking rules that I would need ESP in order to discern.
I'm afraid I'll have to charge for any further assistance in managing these forums.
