Since I've been restricted from posting my email address, I'd like to extend an invitation to anyone who wishes to chat with me through IM. I have MSN, AIM, and YIM. Please leave your IM user name here. I would post mine but I fear further attempts by the staff to assert their authority in this matter.

I swear, I've been to many forums before, but this is the very first I've encountered that has so diligently restricted their members from communicating with each other outside of their domain. I do hope not being allowed to post email addresses will be clearly included in the rules so future posters won't have to deal with the staff seemingly creating banable offenses out of thin air.

Here you go, the rules are now updated to explicitly cover all of the little exceptions you tried to wrangle.

Really, I'm sorry if this forum is not managed to your liking.  FC is a large and diverse community and above all it is a business... if you do not like the way that we run our business, you are free to choose another forum or money-making site to spend your time -- nobody forces you to show up here.

I'll also mention that these rules exist in part because FC is used by minors and appropriate communication channels must be managed and monitored if we are to do our "due diligence"; an issue like this never comes up with a private or personal forum where there isn't anything substantial for the site's owners to lose.

Lastly, our system has logged new FC referrals from the "private forum" you were so intent on promoting here.  So I'd say it's pretty obvious that there are indeed referral links on that site (in some form or another) and thus its promotion was a violation of the rules even before I made the update.  You happy now?

I want proof of this. I've seen his forum and it is none other than a standard Phpbb forum with nothing but discussion topics. There are 0 referral links. So, please don't take this the wrong way but either prove this or don't speak ill of something you don't quite know of. I realize you're an admin and all, but you're straight up lying about this.

Hello Mr. Six Pack Of Confidence, I'm glad to see you've already met Mrs. Twelve Ounces Of Loneliness. And Mr. Plastic Cup Politics, I see you’re under the influence of warm beer and the comfort of all your friends, And I see that Mr. Loud Mouth has had his 40 ounce and will pass out.

The referring URLs from that forum appear to have originated in private messages and not public postings.  You can ask angel379227 about them -- they are his referrals and he got paid for them.  Sorry to disappoint you but I really don't care enough about this issue to lie about it.  What would I have to gain, anyway?

In case I wasn't clear, here is my logic.
1) angel379227 sent FusionCash referral links via private message on his board to other members, at least two of whom signed up for FC.
2) angel379227 wanted to get more users to his forum by promoting it on our forums
3) I presume that angel379227 will send referral links to new users (obtained via FusionCash) since I have proof he already did it for FC.

I don't think I'm coming out of left field here.  If you want to buy advertising on FC you can buy it, but otherwise promotional activities are not permitted here.

Also, I know Admin said this but I will say it again. If you do not like it here, then leave.

We are a business, we have set rules in place for a specific purpose. We do not deny cashouts because we feel like it, we don't "say things we don't quite know of", and we certainly do not lie.

SinnerMerc, there is no reason for us to give you proof of anything, though it certainly wouldn't be hard to do. You can either take our word for it and be content, or you can get riled up, say or do something you don't mean, and lose forum privileges. This is not a charity event for you to steal our members. If you want to build up your referrals, go talk to oldbuddy. If you want to mooch off our hard work we can gladly show you the door.

You should be grateful to me, so maybe in the future you won't have to deal again with what wouldn't have been an issue if your rules were clear to begin with. I actually can't believe it's taken this long for someone to want to contact another member of this site apart from these forums

As you said, this is a business, so you needn't take matters personal when I call you out for reprimanding me for rules you made up on the fly. My time is just as valuable as yours, and it's been wasted here as well, so don't pretend it was MY incompetence that led to this issue. Since I'm helping you dictate your own guidelines, I'd also recommend that you include "These rules are subject to change without notice". That will cover you on most instances such as these, so you can modify your rules on the go rather than creating new meanings from what clearly was intended to mean something else.

I'm not here to like you, and I couldn't care less if you like me, so you don't have to remind me I'm here here by choice. I'll respect your newly created rules as you've set out, even though I think we both know you made them out of spite, seeing as how you've given me three different and very vague reasons for why we're not allowed to contact folks apart from this site if we choose. I've never heard of a business that didn't allow its employees to correspond with one another apart from their work place, but it's your business so you run it as you see fit.

I don't like being trouble, despite what you may think. I always follow the rules of a board, and will continue to do so and hope I don't have to deal with another debacle like this again.

Also, this edit you made to your post putting me on blast for something we discussed through a support ticket is very unprofessional, not to mention completely nonsensical.

So I'd say it's pretty obvious that there are indeed referral links on that site (in some form or another) and thus its promotion was a violation of the rules even before I made the update.  You happy now?

This "In one form or another" is clearly another failed attempt to squeeze out a meaning from your rules that you never intended to imply. To be clear, I have TWO referrals to this site and close to a hundred members on my own. If I had posted referral links then I would have a great many more referrals, as my influence is significant. Again, I do not break rules, and your accusations to the contrary are not only unfounded, they're insulting. You would like to pretend that I violated another non-existent rule, but unless it previously read somewhere that you're not allowed to give out a referral link through a private medium on what was then private forum with explicit instruction not to share it with anyone else on the board, then you so clever cause I'm busted. Since you appear to be new to the internet, allow me to educate you: sending a referral link via private messages is NOT the same as posting it on the site. I highly doubt you could find anyone with common sense that would disagree.

Concerning Kohler's helpful additions: you can show me as many doors as you like, you big bad staff member you, since you certainly can't show me this place is run with any degree of professionalism. I didn't think that the admin of this site required some pep-squad to come in here puffing out his or her chest only to reiterate what's already been said. Look guy, I can bold too and "I will say it again": I'm not here to cause trouble, but when you bring trouble to me I'm surely going to give it right back. Either ban me already or conduct yourselves with integrity and stop pretending this situation is my fault, because all these petty threats and accusations are beneath us. We're all here to conduct our own business, so leave me to mines until the next time you decide to harass me for breaking rules that I would need ESP in order to discern.

I'm afraid I'll have to charge for any further assistance in managing these forums.

So seriously, is it okay to assume that links to our Facebook pages are acceptable, since I've seen others doing it? I now know that one of my favorite posters here, a Mr. John Jonas (love that good al American name there) is a fan of Earthjustice and MDN News and is a male in a relationship looking for networking, lulz. I don't want to step out of line accidentally again here, so please clarify that this is not against your new rules so I can begin linking my own account.

I'd say a link to your facebook profile constitutes posting contact information.  To be safe, I wouldn't do it.  Feel free to report it if someone else has a link to theirs.  Ask yourself these questions before posting a link: do I control all or part of the content on the page?  can I profit from it?  can someone use it to contact me?
If the answer is 'yes' to any of those questions, don't post it.  I would love to get back to work and not have to shoot down every little exception you try to squeeze out.  Keep at it and I'll make a special NO LINKS AT ALL rule just for you, k?

Well thankfully everyone but me is allowed to put Facebook links in their sigs. I've learned so much about the users of the community! Marie, I didn't know your real name is Elissa Mills, how pretty. Also, you like Starbucks and Oreos? Oh-em-gee so do I!

So many ways to contact people I have no wish to contact, hooray!
