:sad1:  I'm sorry you guys can't find a job. I'm lucky, I'm disabled, and have social security to live on. I don't pay rent, and I grow a lot of my own food. I have to thank God, for that. I always thought I was bad off, untill just this past couple of years.. I see I am very lucky.

I just wonder IF ALL the Disability Payments, Government Subsidised Housing, Food Stamps, and other FREE Money Programs were SUDDENLY CUT OFF, HOW MANY OF THESE SUPPOSEDLY DISABLED PEOPLE WOULD FIND SOMETHING TO DO. THERE WOULD BE A MIRACULOUS HEALING TAKE PLACE ALL ACROSS AMERICA. YOU WOULD THINK JESUS CHRIST WAS BACK ON EARTH!!!

Newsflash-----The government has NO MONEY---They just steal money from the workers and producers and they give it to the "disabled", and other entitlement programs.

I wonder if you would say this if you knew just how hard it is for most disabled people to actually draw disability payments.

I HAVE TO AGREE WITH YOU ! NOT EVERYONE ON DISABILITY ISFAKING. I HAVE BEEN TRYING TO GET DISAABILITY PAYMENTS FOR OVER TWO YEARS UNTIL RECENTLY  MY DOCTOR TOLD ME TOGETA LAWYER BECAUSE PEOPLE WHO REALLY NEED THE HELP CAN'T SEEMTOGET ITWHEN IT ISNECESSARY. I WOULDLOVE TOGOBACK TO WORK, BUTIT MEANS FOUR LONG YEARS OF SCHOOL ALL OVER AGAIN AND HOW WOULD I LIVE UNTIL THEN. THE ENCONOMY IS NOTMAKING IT EASY FOR ANYONE!

My brother has been out of work since 3/09 and he's about to become a "99-er." The rest of us are worried sick.

It's tough out there, but hang in there, don't give up, and just keep on trying.

I have been collecting unemployment to some degree since Sept 2009.  I've worked at seasonal and part-time jobs but haven't been able to find anything full-time except minimum wage.  I just got approved for TRA funding though to go back to school and I start on Tuesday to train as an MA.  Hopefully this will allow me a better chance at a job in the medical field.

I was in that odd lot of people who lost their jobs around Thanksgiving 2009 and were only entitled to 26 weeks with no tier extensions. When the benefits ran out, congress swore they would vote to add an extension before they went on their 4th of july vacation break, but didn't. I took a part time job in july because i couldn't not have ANY money coming in, waiting for them to extend. Because I took that part time job I made myself ineligible for any extensions. I am still so angry over that.

Sorry to hear you are having a difficult time. I have many friends and family in the same boat. Times are rough. My mother, her boyfriend, and my baby sister are probably going to end up having to move in with me due to the economy. She is on the verge of losing her house. I hope that you find luck.

You are not alone.  It is very hard out there right now, especially if you are in a small town.  People are taking major pay cuts just to have some kind of a job.  I wish you the best of luck!

I was on unemployment for a while, and then it was determined that I needed to be on permanent Disabilty because of health reasons that keep me from working.  But you can't llive on $1,008.00 a month.   I'm doing everything I can to earn extra bucks.  I'm selling books on Amazon, I have a store on Etsy, ElementalSpirit2.   I'm even trying to sell my wedding gown to make money....it hurts. :crybaby2:

They did not even let me have unemployment. Im living on 362 a month and of that I have to pay back 600 at the end of the year. People think its easy for someone 56 years old to get a job. Even if the job is in demand. Its not. Not if your a good person who wont hurt people. It seems that the ones who will condemn others easily are the ones hired for managing positions as well. So all those strong willed negative people out there got jobs. The kind caring good and loving get shafted from jobs and from unemployment. Im still trying to figure this kind of reasoning of this usa for having to be that way. :BangHead:

Sometime in the next few months I am going to be facing unemployment. Pretty scared. ive worked since I was 12! First babysitting, then I got in fast food when I was old enough. And I can count on one hand the number of jobs I have had. And now I have to find a new one. Wow! My boss is retiring and closing down the company when he does. Crazy. Hope I find a job!

First short-term disability and now unemployment--Meanwhile I decided to go to school for medical massage therapy.  There is a Beacon Career program available to those going to an accredited school, however; to be eligible to have grants of $4,000, I had to be put on a waiting list of six months.  "To hell with that," I thought, so I took out $4,000 from my 401K to pay towards my tuition. I'm mean after receiving three acceptance letters, I wasn't going to wait six months to start the program.  I would be defeating my purpose!  In six month, I will have my massage therapy certification!

What happens next is that I get accepted into the DVR  (Division of Vocational Rehabilitation) program available at NJ Labor department and I mentioned that I enrolled in school and took monies out of my 401K to cover some of the cost of the tuition.  Once the social worker verified that I was enrolled at an Accredited school, she then set-up an appointment for career assessment.  She had said something like, "Wouldn't it be nice if you could get an addition $4,000 towards the cost of your tuition?"  So at the moment I'm unemployed, considered disabled, and broke but at least I can be hopeful!

I am unemployed right now and have been looking for work. They want to quit giving people their deserved benefits because they want the unemployed to go back to work yet, they send the jobs to people in other places for cheaper labor. Since they took the jobs away we can't afford to buy and there is no work to go to.
