Yeah, it's easy to fall for a scam but following all the great advice given by so many on this site can really help someone avoid the pitfalls of online businesses.

There are a lot of scams out there.  I wish there was a way to combat them, but the people behind them scam for a living, and are really belligerent.

Scams have aways been around, it's just that now they are more complex. Ever since the internet became popular scams started to pop up and now they have exploded. There are many things we all can do to protect ourselves from evil scammers.
Know your store - do your homework and check them out. Check out the Better Business Bureau to see if a business is legitimate and trustworthy. Don't fall for the email from some guy who says you have won the Euro lottery and you have to send $1000 to get the 10 million dollar prize, and all the emails that look for money. Delete all emails that you are unsure about. Do not dish out your personal information to any Tom, *bleep* or Harry. Protect yourself and use common sense.

We all have to be careful, be smart research, research, research, the company first...I received
yesterday in my email one of those nigeria emails, that was from a fake law firm, someone had died
that owned a big oil company and they were looking to retreve his money that was left in a account..
I just hope and pray there is no one gullible to fall for that out there, I can only imagen if I got
an email like that how many other people got it too... :star:

A lot of people are shameless when it comes to money and they love to take advantage of good people. You just have to be careful. If something doesn't seem right chances are it isn't.
